I've got ressies at the Dolphin for 12/31 to 1/4 with the nurse's rate. Naturally, I'd LOVE to find S/D at the great $81 rate. I just checked Hotwire for those dates and no luck. Is it just too early, or will 12/31 probably never show up because it's a holiday?

Sue- I am looking for mid-Dec and nothing is coming up for me yet, except Royal Plaza and Hilton in Dtd. I'm going to keep trying- bookmarked Jim's site to check it against too. Good luck, keep us posted if you find anything!

I really don't know if the holiday will have much effect on Hotwire availability. I actually had no problem using Priceline for a 4* (Grand Hyatt) in Atlanta last NYE, so it may not.

I don't believe I've seen Swan/Dolphin on Hotwire past August however, so they may have just not made there inventory available yet.

Woohoo! Got it! Thanks so much Jim for this thread (and your board, which I'm going to post to right after this). We were staying 3 nights at Swan and 3 nights at All-Star Music to save money. Now for $150 LESS, we'll be staying all 6 nights at the Dolphin.

As a loyal Priceline user, I know that Hotwire typically offers higher prices than Priceline does. And I realize I may have been able to get this for about $70 or so on Priceline. But it's worth the extra $11 per night to KNOW that you're going to get the Swan/Dolphin instead of the Hilton, Wyndham, MOWC or Gaylord Palms. If it weren't for you Jim, I know there's no way I'd have gotten this!

I'm so upset! I just tried for my dates 5/16 to 5/20 and only the last night of the 4 night trip was available on Hotwire. Do you think they will release more rooms? Should I keep trying?

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got the Dolphin for 9 nights for $81.00 a night. My dates are November 28 to December 7. This will be our first time staying here. We usually stay at the All Star Sports. Oh I'm soooo excited. Thanks for your help Jim.

I've been trying since I first saw your thread for dates in June/July and December without success. I was so happy to see ThePinGuy's post today. I just went and tried Dec. 5-7th and did not get the Dolphin. Thought maybe I was too late. So I put in ThePinGuy's dates Nov. 28-Dec. 7th and the Dolphin showed availability. How can that be? Why wouldn't just two of those nights show up on their own? I don't get it.

Well, I was just now messing around on Hotwire trying different dates. Looks like if you put Nov. 30th as your arrival date, the Dolphin will show up for the whole month of Dec. (up to the 30th as 30 days is the max you can enter), but if you change the arrival date to Dec. 1, then nada. Maybe that will help someone. I'm guessing that stays with ARRIVAL dates after Nov. 30 have not been put in yet. Jim?

I just got the Swan for 11/26-11/30... But, I was really EXPECTING the Dolphin because the symbol on the original page showed the laundry... I'm a little disappointed with the Swan, because during this time, the Dolphin lobby is beautiful & has a nightly laser show, Santa will also make an appearance....

So, just a heads up to others, even if the laundry is shown on the original screen, you might still get the Swan!

Oh, I just realized that my listing did NOT contain the "R" for resort as some have reported... mine was just a four star.... Oh, and Spa services did not come up either!!! I don't know if this was a fluke or what!

For anyone else that might not have known it, the Swan has gone through an extensive renovation (not just getting new beds like I thought), the place looks really nice!

Hi,

I checked out your site today and got really confused. On your hotel list it says you think the Swan is listed with the Resort icon and with Spa services? That seems different from what you've been saying before. I thought you were speculating that particular unknown property might be Marriott or even Gaylord Palms. You don't think Hotwire changes the icons once in a while to keep us guessing do you?

Quick question....my only hesitation is going thru Hotwire would be the fact that we have 2 kids with us. I realize when you make the ressie it is only guaranteeing a double occupancy room. Does anyone else worry that they would give you a king bed rather than 2 queens?? Thanks in advance.

Still no Swan/Dolphin popping up for my trip 7/03 thru 7/13. I can get the room cheap w/govt rate but would love to go cheaper and use the difference to get APs!!!

Got the Swan for 6/23-6/27, I am so excited!!
I just reread Jim's hotel lists and realized he must have changed the amenities for the Swan, so that what I thought was the Wydham was actually the Swan for $81.
The icons now have the resort icon and spa services, the last time checked I think they were identical to the Dolphin.
So Jim, thankyou, and I used the link from your site to make my bid.
I just bid on the last date first, to make sure it really was the Swan and then I bid on the rest of my dates.
I had the nurses rate before, but this is so much better. My husband will be happy.

First, I'd like to say 'THANK YOU' to everyone who puts so much effort into finding discounts at WDW Resorts! I've been reading this board for a few days and have learned so much. Being an AP holder, I was becoming concerned that discounts would not be offered during my stay. Then I read about Hotwire! At first I was a little apprehensive to pay for an undisclosed hotel, but I couldn't resist. I patiently waited while my request was processing then it happened! I got the Dolphin at $81 for my June stay! My family is thrilled and I have all of you to thank.
