Went to the S&D Food & Wine Classic for the first time last night. Because of the rain, it was held inside the Swan. Anyone who is a fan of good food and wine, it is a must do next year.

First, you get so much bang for your buck...$70 for really top notch food samples which you can sample as many times as you like...all the S&D restaurants are represented...and a red and white tasting from about 30 different regions...they even had a beer and a moonshine station. Again, you can go back as many times as you would like. Also, they had great music...very classy. And with the exception of one very drunk young woman...no one was out of control despite the opportunities.

We went on Friday night and I agree with the OP absolutely worth every penny! I enjoyed every wine, beer, and food offering I tried and I made sure I tried them all. The items that stood out for me were the moonshine (loved it!), the Browned Butter Basted Lobster Roll, the Dragon Roll, Crispy Shrimp, Tuna from Kimonos and the Choconut Tarlet at the dessert table! The champagne from the France booth was very good as well. Todd English himself was handing out the Lobster Rolls on Friday night. The music was excellent. It started raining and they had to move some of the food inside but we didn't care. We really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend this festival. It was very well organized and we never really waited in line at all for any of the booths. We want to go again next year!

Our favorites on Friday night were the sushi from Kimono's and the crabcake slider from Garden Grove. Many good wines to choose from, not to mention the sake and moonshine. Had a great time, even with the rain!!

This year was just as good as last year, even with the rain. I was so looking forward to being out on the causeway, listening to the band in the fountain but it was just as great being in the Swan! As I did for this year, I already rebooked my room for next year!

Have the dates for 2012 been released? Is it always the same weekend ? Would like to book the Boardwalk for next year.
