Swan/Dolphin - Do They Feel Like Disney?

Full disclosure, I’ve never stayed at either one. I have visited them for shopping and dining for over two decades. The big way they differ from a Disney resort is there is no theme that is attempting to transport guests to another place like all of the Disney resorts. They are just really nice, though rather generic, hotels.

I would totally stay at either one, it just has always made more sense to stay somewhere else. Being able to walk or boat to two theme parks and take a bus to everything else Disney is plenty Disney enough for me. I also love Picabu, so that would be a bonus.

You are likely to see conventions, but the same is true of the Disney convention resorts. They’ve always been especially noticeable to me at the YC. That’s not the sort of thing that bothers me unless the conventioneers get rowdy after their meetings are over for the day, which I’ve never had a problem with at Disney (I’m sure it’s happened). I even got to see a free fireworks show outside of YC when we were leaving Epcot through the IG one night.

The thing I miss is having a true Disney style food court. But I know you don't get that at Disney Deluxe resorts either. To me they don't feel super Disney, but the location makes up for that.

maxiesmom, when the Dolphin did their recent lobby refurb they added a quick service location called FUEL that seems really nice. There are some Youtube videos that show the refurbishments and they show FUEL. Maybe you'd like it.

Fuel is great, great selection and a very nice space to boot. For a fairly quick sit down, I like Fresh at the Dolphin. The servers there are friendly and accommodating, even if you are solo. I never feel rushed. Very, very good for breakfast but I order from the menu rather than do the buffet. Come here every trip, even if not staying at the Dolphin. It is wonderful to have choices.

My spg status gives me at least a couple of drink coupons each stay, I use them at the Cabana bar. This is good place to try too.

By any chance do you know what brand of yogurt they sell? Hoping my nephew will be happy with whatever it is so we can avoid a grocery run.

I have stayed t the Swan, so has DH, I also recommend it to folks. I think it is a great resort! We have DVC at BWV because of the great experience at Swan. Love the location! In terms of “feeling”, I didn’t feel much different when I stayed at Coronado one time! Also, I think they have the best pool on property!

For me, it’s a nice combination of being at Disney and staying at an actual resort. I enjoy their pool area much, much more, there are nice dining options, great location and proximity to the parks with the benefit of using Disney transportation.

No but if my October trip isn’t cancelled, I am happy to go take a photo of what they have there and send you a pm. I imagine it’s Oikos but maybe not. I remember lots of granola too. Yum!
