Hi! What are the best choices for a family at the Swan and Dolphin? Is the character meal at Gullivers good. Is it breakfast or dinner, or both? I hear Tubbi's is closing, just trying to see my options for the summer.

Where did you hear Tubbi's is closing?? I'm so disappointed--they are so reasonably priced and open until late hours (24 hours a day during busy times).

I think Gulliver's may only have a weekend character breakfast. Fresh is open for breakfast and the Dolphin Fountain is good for burgers, etc. If you like Italian, Palio's is very good.

Keep in mind you are close to the Boardwalk area.

Tubbi's is only being renovated - it will re-open in April with a new name....many of the same menu options plus new ones...and still available 24/7!!!

One of the things we loved about staying at the Dolphin was hopping on a boat and eating at one of the many restaurants at the Boardwalk. We especially loved eating at ESPN. The pizza we ordered at Spoodles walk up window was good, too!

Highly recommend Palio. It is definitely our favorite Italian in all of WDW. And, Fresh, a must do at least once every trip and probably one of the only restaurants in WDW that offer a Brunch on the weekends (that means if you want to sleep in & have breakfast after 10:30-11, you can!! :teeth: )

Gulliver's serves dinner with characters. Usually Goofy & Pluto with a switch off for 2 nights with Timon and Rafiki. They have a regular menu or a nightly buffet. At the same restaurant Gulliver's is the Garden Grove Cafe at breakfast. Characters appear on the weekends and there is a menu or buffet as well. At times when the other restaurants aren't open they occassionally serve lunch. This was the case when we were there the week before Christmas.

Both "poolside" grills/cafes are also good. Splash Grille at the Swan and Cabana Grille at the Dolphin. Great for lunch especially outside on a nice day. I also hear Blue Zoo is good although we still have yet to try it.
