Currently we have a standard room booked at the Swan. We are 4 adults (me, my sis, her husband, and my nephew) and have no problem sharing one room. However my sister has noticed at the alcove room is coming up at the same price, and was wondering if we should switch?

From the pics I can find on line it looks like an alcove room is a bit bigger, but you give up one regular bed for a fold out. And to me, it doesn't look like there is much separation in the 2 sleeping spaces. Am I wrong? Anyone stay at both room types and can offer some insight? Is there any reason to switch from a standard room to an alcove room that I am missin?

Major differences is the Family (Alcove) room at the Swan has a King bed and a sleeper sofa vs 2 Queen beds. Also the room is 500 sq vs 340 sq for a standard room so 47% more room. They are located in inside corners so have 4 large windows. Some with balconies.

We've stayed in both and the alcove is nice, but, as Dave006 noted, it has a king and a sleeper instead of two queens. It was fine for us when my DS13 was smaller and didn't mind the pull-out, but I wouldn't recommend putting two adults on that bedding - it's just not very comfortable, IMHO. It is more of an open-layout as well, so, no, not a lot of separation between sleeping spaces. The room is bigger, however.
