What is the difference? What are the services offered for each? What is the advantage of doing one or the other? And finally, (indicating I probably can't afford it) how much does it generally cost?

Club level at the Swan (and Dolphin) is different than concierge at other Disney deluxe hotels. CL has continental breakfast offerings from 7-10; then the lounge closes until 5. Then there are appetizers from 5-7 and the lounge closes at 8. Soda, water, coffee is available for free, beer and wine in the evening at a reduced price (I think 2.75 for beer and 4.00 for wine). The difference in price is about $50 per night. (If you are a member of the Starwood Preffered Guest program, you can get it for 1000 points per night. Also, I think gold status members can request a complimentary upgrade. You can earn Starwood points a variety of ways - there is a whole thread on that alone.) The views from the CL floors (11 & 12 for the Swan) are great, but there are no balconies (except for some very large and expensive suites that are there).

From what I read, concierge at other deluxe hotels at WDW offer food/drink all day long, and also includes a separate check in staff as well as a separate concierge desk for reservation, questions, etc. The Swan/Dolphin does not offer this - though they have a concierge desk in the lobby that anyone can use. I don't know the price upcharge for concierge, but I'm sure it's more than $50 per night.

Hope that helps.
