Swan Club Level Upgrade

We will be at the Swan in 2 weeks, I would be interested to hear from anyone who was able to obtain Club Level before arrival/check in. This would be using SWD points. I have read that sometimes calling Starwood directly would work, or possibly calling the Swan directly. I sent the Swan a note and got the standard message that club level is based on availability and to request at check-in, but I think I read somewhere that others were able to get club before arriving. If you have experience with this I would love to hear from you.

I called the number on the back of my SPG gold card...once we got the upgrade in advance (you can call 5 days prior to arrival) and another time we did not...if you call in advance you have to use your points to upgrade (but I forget how many points it is per night... I think 1500)... it was definately worth it.

We were there over Spring Break and as you might guess there were no upgrades available (hotel was sold out most/all nights of our stay). I called everyday hoping for a cancellation per the recommendation of one of the people I talked to on the phone, but alas... no such luck

If you cannot get the upgrade using your points in advance you can always ask on arrival, although I would assume chances would not be great.

I do not think you would have much chance of a complimentary upgrade to club level unless you are a SPG Platinum member or the hotel is REALLY empty.
