Swan and Dolphin wedding

Has anyone on here gotten married at the Swan and Dolphin?

I was wanting to have just my ceremony there, then do a dinner at a restaurant or something...I think I might like to have a morning wedding and then have a brunch somewhere. Do any of the buffets have group dining?

How would I go about having a dessert party if I'm not doing a DFTW? Would I go through Grand Gatherings? Does everyone have to be staying there with a park ticket?

I'd like to get married in June and I know that is not much time to plan. It doesn't matter the date... I just don't want to have to wait until December... (can't get married during football season to a football coach!)

Anyone know the answers to any of these questions?

I am also super interested in hearing details from someone who has done a S&D wedding! My guest list is causing distress!

I think you can still do the dessert party through grand gatherings, with the same viewing fee in lieu or park tickets option, but you cant wear your wedding attire. I think the dessert party would be the same price really as if you did an escape wedding, does anyone have any more info on this?

ANyone who had a S&D wedding want to share details & pics? ReviewS?

I know that you can have a dessert party without having a big wedding or a wedding at all...we have had 5 and no one has gotten married. I know that you will need a park pass to get in. Hope this helps a little.

My daughter is getting married at the Swan and Dolphin at the Crescent Terrace on April 23. She only booked the site, videography, and the officiant. I think it cost 900 - 1100. I'm not sure. I know I put the down payment down (900), but I'm not sure how much of the total that was. One of the groom's sisters is a professional photographer, so she will be taking care of that. My son will be playing disney wedding music on his keyboard. Just Marry said to just let them know what hook ups we need. My daughter will be getting silk flowers. They only have the best man and maid of honor. Our close family will be attending, and then we are planning an informal (backyard maybe?) reception on June 21 back home. We are having a cake/champagne reception in our villa (2 BR OKW). We also might go out to dinner.

I don't have any answers about the wedding itself, but if you're looking for a place for a group to have a brunch, I highly suggest FRESH inside the Dolphin. We used them for our rehearsal luncheon at the beginning of March and it was fantastic. They gave us our own room and let us bring in our own centerpieces, etc. There wasn't a charge for the room and they allowed us to purchase the buffet. You can also do plated entrees from them too.

We also purchased a cake through their bakery, a groom's cake, and it was delicious!

Since the Swan is near the Boardwalk, do you think you could get pics along the Boardwalk if you had a Swan wedding? And I believe I asked before, but is it true that you must book your wedding through DFTW in order to get an in park Bridal Shoot?

I'm really just trying to wrap my head around all of this. I need to hammer down some kind of plan. In a perfect world, I would love to have something small and intimate in a beautiful location. I think doing an intimate package in or around Disney makes so much sense - and then have a casual fun party back at home. I feel like by going this route we could have something so much more special & memorable than the same money could get us at home. Disney's Escape package is close to what I am looking for, but we'd possibly have a few too many guests. Plus for the money I wish that we could substitute some of the things we don't want for things that we'd like to have.

I definitely think you could walk over to get pictures at the Boardwalk. There's a bridge that goes across to it near the boat dock at the Swan and Dolphin. I'm pretty sure you can only do an in-park bridal portrait session if you have a DFTW.

I don't have a ton of info, BUT I can tell you I saw a couple getting married outside at the courtyard at the Swan and Dolphin and it looked BEAUTIFUL!!! There was an altar table and a lattice piece and chairs set up and it was amazing!

I can also tell you that I LOVE the Swan and Dolphin and have found that their service rivals Disney. After my stay there I was almost convinced to do a Swan and Dolphin wedding myself. In fact, if it weren't for the Cinderella Coach, I might have gone that way, too.

I don't know about the Swan photography people, but Randy Chapman is who we're going with for photography and he said that we could walk over to the boardwalk for pics but we'd need an extra half hour. We decided that we're going to go with the Disney wedding instead though.
