Swan and Dolphin Renovations?

I keep reading about renovations taking place at the Swan and Dolphin. Does anyone know the nature of these renovations? We have ressies for the Dolphin for next June, will we see alot of construction taking place?

From what I've read, all the renovations will take place inside the resort, so you won't see scaffolding.

The Swan is supposed to be completed first (sometime in early 2003) with the Dolphin probably more towards the middle to end of 2003---but as with any renovations, it's subject to change.

I'll miss the cute pineapples and palm tree decor, but I'm sure the new rooms will be very nice!

Hi. I just got back Sunday from the wonderful Swan and stayed in a 3rd floor renovated room. Looking at the picture I don't remember it so "orange", but it is a wonderfully beautiful room, very relaxing and the heavenly beds are fabulous. The comforters are so large they kept wanting to slide off the beds! The staff was great, the grotto pool lots of fun and the walk or boat to Epcot/MGM absolutely cannot be beat.

Hi all,
I spoke to a SPG reservationist today to upgrade our room with points (we should be getting a studio!). Anyway, the gentleman told me that only the third floor of Swan has been completed, but they are moving along. One thing I was disappointed about was that I wanted to get Club privaleges with my points (keeping a standard room on the third floor), but he said this is no longer possible, club privaleges are now only available on the club floor, so if I wanted that I could not have a renovated room. Of course the heavenly bed was more important than juice and danish, so I went for the renovated studio request instead. Hoping to be able to post pictures of a renovated studio next week!

I called the Dolphin today and was told that the renovations will be completed some time spring 2004.
