Swan and Dolphin question/lockers/bell services?

We are going to the S&D Food and Wine this October which we have done for the past few years. In years past we stayed at the Dolphin. This year we are staying at Saratoga. I want to bring a backpack with some items we will need throughout the evening, but I don't want to carry it if I don't have to. Can I check a bag even if I am staying somewhere else? Or do they have lockers by the pool/somewhere else?

I've read some isolated reports that some hotels will only store bags if you are an overnight guest at that specific hotel. This seems to be limited to major cities (particularly New York City). Many of these stories mention that hotels do this because of security (terrorism) concerns.

That said, the overwhelming majority of hotels will store bags from anyone. Additionally, many hotels will consider anyone spending money in the hotel to be a "guest". Since you are attending an event there, I'm sure they will accept a bag.
