Can the Swan and Dolphin hold a family of 5--we usually sleep 2 adults, with small child in bed and then the 2 older boys sleep on the pull out couch (do they have one)?

Which do most people like for convience Swan or Dolphin, closest to walk way to Epcot.

Can you walk out of Epcot and walk back to your hotel at night, or do you need to go out front with the crowds and get a bus?
Thanks

We'll be at the Dolphin for the first time this summer but I can help with some of your questions. We'll have 3 adults and 2 kids (ages 12 & 9) and we were told that they will allow 5 at the Dolphin but not the Swan. Rooms are a bit smaller at the Swan and it has to do with fire codes.

Traditional rooms have either 2 double beds or one king, and I don't beleive they have pull-out couches. The set up is different in the suites so you may want to check out that option.

Transportation to Epcot and MGM is by boat - no crowds at the busses out front when you leave the parks! :D You can also walk to both of those parks, although the walk to MGM is a bit longer.

Happy planning! :sunny:

Yup, tiggergranny, you can walk out of Epcot through the International Gateway and walk back to your resort. You do not need to go out front via Future World. It is such a great perk when staying at an Epcot resort particularly after Illuminations when you don't have to fight crowds trying to board buses or boats. The walk is about 15 min. from the Gateway to the Swan/Dolphin.

A standard room at the Dolphin has 2 double beds and no pull-out sofa. You could always request a rollaway.

I think you're better off asking for a rollaway bed (I think there is an extra fee for it, maybe $25.00?)

As far as walking to and from Epcot, it's a breeze! Many times we beat the boat back, as it makes so many stops before ending up at the Dolphin/Swan boat dock. The boat to MGM is a direct shot over, making no stops along the way.

Enjoy! The Dolphin has become our favorite resort. ::yes::

Just got back from the swan, its 2 queen heavenly beds and the rollaway is $25 per night. We have 3 teen ds so thats what we usually get. We prefer the swan because its smaller. Also the swan is the 1st bus stop pick up for places like AK, DD, TL, BB and MK. So you will probably get a sitting seat versus standing since the bus is shared with Dolphin 2nd stop, then YC, BC and Boardwalk. You could walk to epcot., but we generally take the boat as its a nice ride over to epcot or mgm. As far as restraunts and mug refills the dolphin has the edge. But its really not that long of a walk from the swan. We skipped the mugs and had tiffany towncar stop at the hess mini mart across from the swan and we picked up 4 packs of soda etc. We ate in tubbis twice for dinner and I was not impressed, you can read my restraunt reviews. I would stick to the pizza. DS said the hotdog was o.k.

IMO, this is the best part of staying at an Epcot resort. I've stood in the line for busses after Illuminations and it ain't fun.
Plus, there's plenty to do on the Boardwalk after the park closes. :)
