As some of you might have read in my "sad bride to be" post, I am really struggling to figure out where and how to have my wedding. As I am sitting here brainstorming with my parents(who have been SO helpful with all this), we were wondering if nights at Swan/Dolphin count towards the room block. We noticed on the official disney world website that they are listed as disney world resorts, and not as Sheraton/Westin hotels. Does anyone have more information on this?

No, sorry, the Swan & Dolphin don't count. Only the Disney owned and operated resorts at Walt Disney World count toward your room block.

Thank you Mary, that certaintly rules out what we were thinking. I appreciate your quick response :thumbsup2

Not sure but I think I heard something once about the ability to do a wedding at either Swan or Dolphin that does not have the same rules as a DFTW? Does anyone else know anything about this? Not sure if that is helpful...

You can get married at the Swan. A company called Just Marry handles the wedding planning for them. The Swan is a cheaper option than having your ceremony through DFTW, but there are some potential drawbacks - not as many options for your ceremony and reception locations and you can't get the MK photo session. There have been several Swan brides that have posted here and been really happy with their wedding.
