I would like to have some sort of beverage available for our guests to have with the cake. Most of them dont drink so it needs to be non alcoholic. I think some sort of punch would be a good idea. But is anyone familiar with adding drink service to a S&D wedding package? I think I read that something like that costs 5$ a person, but dont know if that includes the beverage, and that was quoted for champagne. I will be asking my planner as well, but you girls seem to know EVERYTHING, so i thought id see if you had answers as well.

I asked Karen this recently. It wasn't a per person price, it depended on the drink you wanted. I know they have sparkling cider, fruit punch, infused waters, etc. She can tell you exact prices and how many each bottle serves. If I recall correctly the price of having someone serve it and the glassware was included in the prices. They are hefty though, like $70 or so for a gallon of juice! We opted to just stick with our water station (included in basic package) and have drinks at the reception.

Hi sweetie - We had a drinks package to go with our cake, as we had a little mini 'pre-reception' at the Courtyard after our ceremony. We had drinks, cake and speeches and it lasted about 30 - 45 minutes. It was one of my favourite bits of the day!! Because our reception was a more formal, sit-down meal at a restaurant, it was a little difficult to mingle with our guests, and our little pre-reception gave me the chance to catch up with everyone!! We also did speeches here and I liked that it got them out of the way whilst we were still alone in our little group and didn't have to make them at the restaurant with other people around (we could not have the private room at Citrico's as we were too big a party). I loved it!!!

I really wish that I had not thrown away all my pricing paperwork, so that I could help you girls more, but, unfortunately, I did!!:sad2:
We had (I think) two bottles of champagne, sparkling cider and OJ (so people could make Buck's Fizz). I don't recall the OJ being $70.00 :scared1:( I would certainly have remembered that), but we had our OJ was priced in bottles and I think we only had four, as there was only 14 of us. They were (I think) kind of 'wine sized' bottles of OJ. Because we purchased drinks, the server, glasses etc came included. We added an extra server (at a set fee per guest), to cut and serve the cake. I think, if you get your cake directly through the Swan, the serving of the cake etc is included, but we got our cake from an outside vendor. I think the fee was around $4.00 per guest and included flatware, plates etc. With only 14 of us, and a total fee of around $56.00, it was worth every penny. I am so glad that we didn't have to worry about the cutting, serving and boxing of the cake. As far as we were concerned, our cake and the extra bottle of unopened champagne, just seemed to magically appear in our resort room as the Swan and our family took care of all that!!!
If you were not having cake at the ceremony site, I agree with our sweet Jilian that it may not be necessary to have any drinks other than the water station, but if you are having cake etc, it would be nice to have extra drinks. Karen will, I am sure have very sound advice for you, and will know how to build a package which is right for your event (and not just one that will rake in the most money for the Swan!! ;)). I have every confidence in her!!! She really knows best!! Good luck

We went for the tiered cupcake option for the cake (it look adorable in the picture) so no cutting needed there. I just want something for the guests to do while we finish up pictures, as I found some near town gaming friends will be attending as well as my family. Nerds Galore!

The OJ was priced differently, I seem to recall it being $7 per bottle and each bottle served 3-4 people? It was the gallons of fruit punch and lemonade that were really pricey. They also had a few infused waters that were pricey. The champagne I think was also in the $70 range and it served 5-6 people per bottle. She also had a sparkling cider that was more affordable, I think in the $30/bottle range? I just looked all over for the email but I deleted it, sorry :(

Actually Jillian, thats extremely helpful with even the limited pricing you remember. Now i know what to ask for :thumbsup2
