Just returned from a split stay at the Swan and AKL. I can not tell you how much the information from this discussion board has helped in the planning of all our trips to Disney World. Many thanks to all!!! So I thought I would give some quick points from our stay in hope of maybe helping out someone else in their planning.
Swan:
--As of Jan. 1st the resort tax rate has gone up
--The refurbished rooms and heavenly beds at the Swan are Great
--SPG points to upgrade to club have gone up from 750 to 1250! (A very kind desk clerk gave it to me anyway for 750 since I had an email with a statement with that amount on it )
--There were actually 2 parks having early entry each day thru 1/2
--No waving of resort fee at all. ( I even made my reservations 9/01)
--Very nice stay, so concerns at all
AKL
--The line was almost to the door to check in... very popular resort
--Resort is great and different from anything we have ever experienced at Disney (this was our 11th resort to try)
--Animals were very active since it turned cooler the end of the week.
--Little baby (cattle) was born on Christmas morning. It was my son's favorite thing to do each day. To go and find the little one.
--Liked having the extra dresser by the door
--Only concern. BATHROOM noise. I'm not talking about flushing, I'm talking about the going. (I am very sorry if this is too much information.) Someone else a few months ago had also written about this. Now I can say been there, and yes it is true. I heard it every time we went to bed at night.
