We stayed at the Swan because of husband's conference at the Dolphin. I had heard of mold problems so I was a little worried. I faxed the hotel 4 days ahead of time and requested a mold-free room. When we checked in they said that was taken into consideration. There was a slightly musty smell when you first walk in, but it wasn't noticeable after a while. No visible mold anywhere. I was pleasantly surprised when we had a balcony. Yes it was small and the view was of the Dolphin hotel, but I didn't expect it because I paid for a standard room.
The elevators always seemed to know when you were coming down the hall, because most of the time the elevator door was open when you got there. And if not, the wait was very short.
Had breakfast twice at the Garden Grove and the buffet was good.
Other mornings we either had danish or muffin at the bar in the lobby or walked to the Boardwalk Bakery which was very good.
Palio restaurant was excellent.
Went to the Mandara Spa for a hot stone massage. Not cheap, but was very relaxing.
There is a laundromat at the Dolphin. If you have allergies and use an unscented detergent, you should bring your own, because they only sell regular Cheer and Tide.
The Heavenly Beds were nice, but if you're used to a firm mattress they might bother you after a few nights. When you get in bed and have that white comforter over you, you feel like you're sinking in a cloud.
Overall, a very nice hotel.

Glad you had a great time, we were there too and we got the swan because dh made sure to register the lst day. Our lst room was moldy and musty smelling and our one ds has asthma so we asked for another room, the lst was on the 8th floor, our next room was on the 2nd floor with a balcony. It was our 3rd stay at the swan and we had a good time as well. Did you hear that next year the conference is going back to Vegas to the Venetian because too many people complained about the transportation issues, my dh friend was staying at coronado springs and had to pay for a taxi to get him back for his heart meds and alot of the guys were saying they were bored with nothing to do , my dh doesnt drink or gamble so he could care less but his friends were chomping at the bit wishing they were in vegas instead.

Thanks for the report! With all these mold issues floating around, I hope people are writing to management - because once they are well aware, things can be taken care of. Sometimes they are the last to know about these issues, though.

Actually the bell man said with the lst room that he could get housekeeping to come up and spray it? I dont think they understand that aerosols etc. is exactly what an asthmatic does not need etc. I guess I must have had one of my if looks could kill looks. Worse, my ds kept saying I will be o.k. etc. Yeah, right. You could not see the mold, but my dh says I have a nose like a bloodhound and I smelled it as soon as the bell man opened the door. We also checked in early to make sure we could have another room option etc.
