Lets try to help each other get a really good price. IF you find out of a sale going on be sure to post. I would love to know if anyone knows if the sale they had on last week for 65.00 one way tickets to orlando are still on now?
thanks Diane

I was "playing" on their site the other day, and the best I could get for random dates I was plunking in was $114 each way. We booked last Aug for our Jan trip and got them for $79 each way (total $700 US for 4). They had been $59 and went up, and I think some people here got them after me for the great price of $29 each way :earseek:

What kind of dates are you looking at?

I am looking for May 1-8. How far inadvance did you book? I am wondering if I should just book fhte 114 flights now . I have heard if there is a better deal I can apply that and get a credit for the difference. I think you got a really good price and would love to pay that much. But I guess 29.00 is a steal to me.
thanks Diane

Maryliz,
To me $79 to fly one way across the country is a great deal. But $29 , thats unbelievable. Were you able to get a SWA credit for the diff., or how does that work? It is correct that if if it the exact same flight that you have booked that decreases, you can get a credit back on your cc? How is it that some people get a SWA credit and some people get a credit back on their cc?

Diane - I have read that southwest begins sales each Tuesday morning, so that would be a great time to check their web site. Hockeymom also told me that it is a good idea to check your dates each morning and night until you book. Also, on their web site you can sign up for their weekly e-newsletter that has sale info. in it I think.

We never got the credit for the difference. By the time we saw the price differences, there weren't 4 tickets for the exact same flight times, so we weren't eligible for the difference. I've heard differing stories too about whether it's a SW credit, or a credit back on your cc.

dimoe ... if you're going to book them, I'd call SW and ask them about these "what if the price changes" scenarios. Then you'll know up front what needs to be done, because if I remember correctly, you basically need to see the cheaper flights right then and there, and do something on the website right away.

Good luck!

Diane,

I booked my airfare for $114 one way and then it went on sale two weeks later for $65 each way. I re-booked the same flights and got a SWA credit for $400 (for 4 people). Before I re-booked though, I called the airline and they confirmed that it would be a credit for future airfare (up to one year from original booking date). I guess you could do the same thing as me and book for $114 to be guaranteed tickets and keep watching to see if it goes on sale - which I'm sure it will by the time May rolls around. Good luck.
