I believe the senior fares are fully refundable...but they are cheaper then the regular fully refundable fares. They aren't cheaper than the wanna get away fares though.
Thanks. It's good to know although for February and March all Senior Fares say Sold Out. If you use RR points I suppose there are no real advantages because if cancelled the points always return to your account, correct?
The first time any one uses a senior fare you have to check in at the counter before security to verify your age. I'm not even sure you can get a boarding pass until they verify your age for the first time.

That's correct. I've brought my mom along on a SWA senior fare a couple of times. We have had to check in at the counter for both trips so they could verify her age. (Not on the return though.) The price wasn't any different, but the refundable status was nice.
