SWA Rapid Rewards Credit Card Question

Does anyone know if your Chase SWA RRs get credited to your account when you make the purchase or when you pay the card?

We are about 30,000 points away from a companion pass and can easily spend that (business expenses, not living large! LOL!) if we have to, although it's possible some of it won't get paid 'til after the first of the year... so my question is, do you reap the reward points when you charge to the card, or when you make the payment to the card?

We typically charge and pay immediately, so I have never been able to track exactly when the points get awarded!

It gets credited when the statement is cut. Usually 2-3 days after it's cut actually. My last statement was 10/3, and the points posted 10/5. Hope this helps!

When the statement is cut after charging or when the statement is cut after paying?

If I charge $10,000 on 10/15 and my statement is cut on 11/1, but I don't pay the bill 'til 11/15, will I see the points on 11/1, or not until it's paid (12/1)?

I'm pretty sure it is after charging. They don't make people who carry a balance wait to get their points I don't think.

My reward credit cards all issue their airline miles/hotel points on the date the billing cycle closes. However, as mentioned, it may take a few days for miles/points to post to the affiliated airline or hotel account.

I was doing this this past May. My due date is the 23rd of the month, my closing date is the 26th. I made one more transaction on the 22nd, hoping it would post in time. All points accumulated during the month will post by the closing date if the corresponding charge has posted to the account by midnight of the closing date. The time it takes from pending to posted depends on the vendor actually posting on their end. The charges listed as pending for a couple days, finally posted shortly before midnight of the 26th, pretty much the latest they could, lol! I wanted to buy a ticket with points and was afraid the price would go up before I'd get enough points and I'd have had to wait till the end of June for points to post! Then, even though my closing date is the 26th, the points don't always post then - they usually post anywhere from the 26th to the 28th. I had to wait til the 28th, then got the ticket with a couple days to spare before price/points increase!
