SWA will credit you the difference if a fare you purchased goes down, correct? I'm assuming you have to call them? Is there any limit to how many times you can do this?

Just to clarify, SWA will issue a credit good for future travel, not credit back to your card as a refund.

You will most like have to do this yourself online as the cheapest fares are usually "WEB" only deals that the 1-800 agents cannot book.

Just logon and modify the existing reservation to the lower fared flights. The credit will be associated with that reservation ID for future travel. You will have one year from initial date of purchase to use the funds.

There is no limit to how many times this may be done. However, you cannot switch a reservation from cash to points and vice versa.

You just go in and do a modify flight, pick the flights with the new prices and the difference goes into a fund for use with future reservations within 1 year of original ticket purchase.

Right after I posted this earlier, I checked SW and my November flight went down $76! I went in and did modify, not I have a $76 credit on file for my next trip!
