I think someone has mentioned this in a previous thread - if so, feel free to post link to existing information. My question = if I book a flight today for $89 one way and it goes on sale for something less than that, what is the policy on rebooking - do I pay a fee that may be higher than the savings? Do I get a credit?

There is no re-booking fee, you do not even have to cancel your existing flight you can just go in and make a change and you will then have the lower fare.
You are then given a credit which needs to be used within a year of the date you actually booked the trip. If your first fare was a refundable fare then they will credit your charge card. Some here have indicated that they have called and had the credit applied to their credit card, but I do not know the circumstances.

That reply was quick, contained everything I needed - and all before I had to press the "confirm sale" button on the SWA site. I love the DISBOARDS!!

for example, on SWA site, if I book a flight that later shows cheaper fares (or a comparable but different flight w/cheaper fares), do I have to somehow reference my original reservation in order for them to cancel and apply the refund to the new flight? Never booked on line before (and flights aren't out for me yet 8/25 - 9/3) but I'd like to be prepared in advance. BTW Delta flights for this time frame have jumped dramatically over the last week!! Flying out of either BDL or PRO whichever is cheaper.

Thanks for the help,

Yes, you need your original reservation #, you do not have to cancel your originial reservation, unless you are booking the ding fares. If the fares for your trip go down you can actually just go in and make a "change" to your original reservation you do not have to cancel and re-book.
