SWA open through 1/9!!

Southwest has opened its schedule to 1/9 for those of you waiting. Is this as far as it will advance? I am still looking for February and I thought maybe they released dates more than one month at a time.

The Reservations system is unable to complete your request.

Anyone actually booked?

I booked regular flights (not rewards ones) 12/26 for $133 and 12/30 for $79 to and from PIT.

There is a $79 flight on Christmas Eve at 7:55 available. Thought about taking it, but decided the kids would rather be at home on Christmas morning.

Five minutes later, almost all the 12/26 flights are showing unavailable. Wow that went fast.

I am getting the same error. Just called Southwest and it seems that they are not completely done loading all the schedules. I was told to keep trying because it should not be long.

The release was eight days earlier than I thought it would be, I also thought it would go further into January.

I'm getting the same errors and not using Rapid Rewards. Seems the phone operators are having the same problems. I'm trying to book a return in Jan '07, perhaps that's part of the problem, since it seems those of you completing your travel in Dec have been able to book just fine.

No, I'm trying to travel 12/14-12/23 and keep getting error message (the guy with those guiding lamps is getting to me.....). I've been on hold 10 minutes with SW (and still waiting......).

Operators must be swamped, because now I'm getting a busy signal. I think for my mental health, I better walk away for 30 minutes.

Finally! I just booked our flights for December 16-22

I also had trouble booking online so I had to call (I held for about 15 minutes). The agent told me that the credit card section was having problems online this morning.

Didn't get the price I would have liked. I got online immediately and the Internet-One-Way and Fun Fare prices where "unavailable" for the time we wanted already. How does that happen if they just opened the dates??? I'm not too confident that there would be any DING's coming thru for travel during these dates since it is such a popular travel period - plus I was booking for 8 people. I'll just be happy with what we have and do the happy dance that our vacation planning is complete (I was able to book our Candlelight Processional Package yesterday! ).

I was unable to book on line (error message) for my moms flight but talked to a really great SWA operator and she booked me an internet only fare. It took about 30 minutes on the phone though but the SWA operator was great to work with.

I too was getting errors - and then a busy signal. I finally got through to an operator who was great and booked me the internet price one-way for our return trip 12/12 - We are flying airtran down as I had free airline tickets thanks to Wendy's cup promo Airtran offered $59 flights one day and I had to pay $109 now but much better times offered!

I booked within maybe 8 minutes and all the good fares were gone for Xmas week. think what happens is that group sales from SW grabs them( a SW operator told me this) Travel agents group their customers together artifically and book as a group sale. I know someone who is a TA and she told me they do this ( group them together). That is why I posted earlier wondering if it would be better to use a TA. I am going to next year. Any thgoughts. We are paying almost420 a ticket with taxes etc. YIKES

I noticed the fares had opened up about about 10:30 & immediately started trying to book. Kept getting the error message, so I tried calling - busy signals for about 15 minutes! I kept dialing & finally got through to the lovely hold music. During all this time I kept trying online - GOT IT!

I managed to book both my family of four's flight & my parents on one-way legs. So I am prepared for DINGS - but highly doubtful that we will see them for my dates, Dec. 20 & 27th.

Got what I wanted -- $300 total less than United..... Operator was super (about 1 1/2 hours ago) and confirmed that the online system was down and that they were swamped ... Don't know if it's back up yet. She gave us the Internet fare as well.

Saw they had extended the dates a few minutes before 11 central and it took almost an hour for the system to let me book. The operator couldn't/wouldn't get the internet fare for me. Going Houston to MCO for a $192 round trip. All three of us flying for a little more than Continental wanted for one ticket.

I went to get my haircut and missed it!!!
Oh well, by time I got there the best prices for 12/22 were gone.
Ended up with $846.30 for 3 adult fares 12/22-12/28. I can live with that.

Between CP packages and AP rates yesterday, and this today, I'm done for Christmas!! I need a vacation now--oh wait--I leave Saturday!!! This has turned into a great week!!

Yeah, same sorry as everyone else here. Finally got through on the telephone and was able to book the flights we wanted. Bring on the Ding! watch, now that the watch for the initial release of the flights has happened!

I was finally able to book online around 11:45 central time however we have to fly home on December 23rd instead of the 22nd but I am not complaining - I get to spend an extra day at Disneyworld!!! I added one night at WL with the AP discount and dinner at Artist Point just for the fun of it. Merry Christmas to me!!!
