We've always had very good luck. We get off the plane, hit the restrooms and then make our way to baggage claim. Usually we have our luggage within 15 minutes of arriving at baggage claim. Last trip we split up and I went to the Alamo kiosk while my DH went to get the luggage - by the time I returned (not long, the kiosks had no wait), he already had the luggage.

"How long" is relative. I feel having my luggage within fifteen minutes after arriving at the carousel - especially with any pitstop or other delay - is long.

Shoot. I knew I forgot to say something. If there's lightning in the area, your luggage WILL be delayed. Ramp Agents aren't allowed to be on the tarmac when it's not safe.

Our trip from Baltimore to Detroit this summer, we were off the plane and had our bags within 20 minutes. That included from the time we landed, walked out, to the bathroom, to baggage claim, had luggage (and we don't travel light) and out to the curb. I thought SW did an awesome job and I'm quite impatient.
