I know some of you are regular SWA passengers, so I thought I'll ask here into on the transportation board.

My credits expire June 19th. I know I can use it for my flights in September, so am thinking of extending it. Am I right in thinking that I can book a flight close to the credit value (150 in this case) for a fare that is not 'wanna get away', and then when I cancel, I get a voucher?? Is this right??

So, I was able to find a business class flight for 151. Will it work if I book it now, and then cancel when?? today or just before the flight supposed to take off??? And then once cancelled, I call into SWA and ask them to send me a voucher:confused3

Any help would be appreciated.

if your original flight was wanna get away, then you will only get that as credit no matter what you try and rebook at. IF you had a credit of $150 on wanna get away, and book a business refundable class for $155. if you go to cancel, you would only be refunded the $5. You will have to wait until your credit expires then contact SW to get an extension, and thy will deduct $50 per ticket from your credit, they send out a voucher which they say takes 1 week, but here to Canada mabye abit more. So, you won't be able to book Sept flights until you get that which is a pain but at least you can still use the credit.

I got 200 in credit that is going to expire in Jan. Not sure what to do with it as my next trip wont be till Dec 2010. bummer

I do realise what you are saying about 'wanna get away'. I am only trying to re-book as 1 person, so all I have to pay is the $50 to extend, as if I don't then I end up paying $50 per person so basically I get no refund back.
