I've flown SW direct before. This April will be my firsst trip with connecting flights. If I print out my boarding pass from home, will it give me a boarding pass for the connecting flight at the same time? Or do I have to get a boarding pass from the gate agent?

Thanks for any assistance.

You will get a boarding pass for each leg of your flight when you print your passes at home. This is true for all airlines.

Pray that you are not headed to Philly to change planes!

I just did this and it was a nightmare. There are times when your plane comes into one terminal(D I think) and your connecting flight is in the other terminal(E I think).

I had to leave security and go back through it again to get to my connecting flight! What a pain in the buttocks.

I had to dump my Britta water bottle. I had forgotten it had water in it as I was not expecting to have to go through security again. I waited in line, got all undressed, including removing my shoes, jacket and sweater, and then was told to get out of line to get rid of the water!

The family behind me had purchased lunch at the first gate and had to dump much of it to get through security. They were really ticked!

I have never had that happen before. I will avoid Philly like the plague from now on!

You get boarding passes for all your segments at the same time. So you actually get to check in for your connecting segments more than 24 hours in advance.

This can happen at airports other than Philly as well. I agree that having to go through security again is an enormous pain, especially if you have acquired things after clearing security that you then have to dump when you go through security again.
