SWA change ticket fee

Does anyone know what SWA charges to change an airline ticket?

I'm pretty sure it is $50 to change a ticket. However, you can cancel and re-book wih no fee at all. You do have to make sure that the same fare is available though if you do this because when you re-book it is at whatever price is open at that time.

Thanks. I have a friend who was going to FL for spring break, but now may go to AZ and she didn't know if SWA would let her.

I don't think there is any fee at all ever...I've changed and canceled many different types of reservations without any fees....I also have never heard or seen any reference to a fee...that is why I like them soo much...

you know the more I think about it, there is no fee as long as you are doing it in advance. I just remembered a time when I switched my flight times and only had to pay $5 for security fees because we made an extra stop.

The $50 I was thinking of is if you want to change that day at the airport..to an eralier flight for instance. But as long as you plan it in advance there is no fee.

That fee is the "standby fee" SWA charges if you want to go standby on an earlier flight than the one you were originally scheduled on; same day travel only.

Unlike the legacy carriers, they don't charge a change fee to reschedule in advance or simply to cancel, and if it turns out that your new flight is actually cheaper than the one you were originally scheduled on, you can sometimes get an actual refund of the price difference (if not, you'll get it as a credit with the airline, to be used against the fare of a future flight.)

This last trip I changed Tix on SW and was not charged a fee, in fact, it was because the airfare went down and they credited me the difference. I not have 80.00 for my next trip.

This is why I travel SWA all the time. I book on-line, change when the fares go down, never charged a fee and I always seem to use my credit within a year. I love SWA. I was bummed to see they raised their point transfers from American Express Rewards from 20,000 miles to 240000. But. what can you do!
