SWA APRIL watch

O.K. Almost everything is gone for NY Islip to MCO for the easter time frame. I am looking at possibly a friday to a friday and coming back before easter, its either that or pay like $400 for american. I hate southwest, but its closer to our house. Looks like all Long Island will be going to FL for the spring holidays. It will be our last trip before our aps expire. I will run this by dh and the one ds tonight and then book it if anything is left.

All the way to June 9th!? :earseek: Wow, they almost opened up to my dates in early July! I guess we'll have to wait till at least mid-February for July. Isn't planning half the fun/anxiety? ;)

i need advice here please
fly southwest from okc to mco roundtrip for 1167 total for 4 people
or delta nonstop for 1105 roundtrip 4 people
i have heard delta always changes your flight. My whole deal is i am a woman traveling with 3 teens by myself and cannot have my bunch split up on the plane!I have 1 who has never flown and if he ends up getting separated from us he will be upset and nervous.please give me your advice as to who to book

Finally!!
I just got my mom and sister's return flights from Orlando to Portland, OR on $99 each on April 3rd. They already had tickets for the flight there in late March, but now I know for sure which day they are returning so I can finalize my itinerary.

I would go with Delta for the lower fare and assigned seats. I don't know about their reputation, though. I put up with SW's seat issue because of low fares which are pervasive throughout the northeast for Florida. I usually get A boarding passes for SW by printing on-line at home, but its a crap shoot for the way back from Florida and you will most likely get C passes if you don't have a way to print prior to leaving Florida. I travel with small children so I get priority seating on SW, so I can do this now and not worry about it.

thank you for your advice.I completely forgot about boarding passes.last vacation i did was with expedia so everything was already done for us as far as passes.thanks again

Well, I booked my return flight on 4/7 MCO - MHT for $59. I missed the opening this morning so the $59 MHT - MCO (Non-Stop) on 4/1 were sold out. I'll keep an eye on them each day and will probably end up with a $79 fare, which is OK with me...I'll also watch for the Dings.

We all know that SWA opened thru June 9, on DECEMBER 20th.

I've been unsatisfied with the rate I booked, and curious of the "unavailable" status of our return flight on April 8th, and have been following SWA's site daily for lower fares and availablity.

Today, December 30 I decided to call SWA and inquire if the flight was actually sold-out, or if SWA was just holding back future seats/fares. The rep communicated the flight was indeed sold-out, but to keep in mind the possibility of seats opening because a certain portion are sold as "refundable anytime". Which BTW I ended up with 45 minutes after these flights went for sale on December 20.

The rep said "we've been selling April for some time now" hence why that flight is full. I told her that I showed April available since December 20th and she replied "that's correct". I then politely asked, so that's "some time now?" She said for SWA it is.

Just wish I had that sort of business demand.
