Option to pay DD's private school tuition each month are credit card or direct debit. If we pay via credit card & then pay the credit card off immediately, we can rack up points. BUT...the school credit card transaction fee is $45. No fee for direct debit.

So do I "throw away" $45 while still acquiring 125 SW points/Disney dollars each month or just do direct debit?

At the cost of 60 points per $1 redeemed on southeast that 125 points would only earn you $2 in flights each month. Take the $45 fee your saving and put it in your vacation fund and be done with it.

I'm pretty sure your math is wrong someplace.

Earning 125 Disney Dollars a month a would mean the tuition bill is $12,500 each MONTH (assuming you have the $100 charged = $1 reward card). Which seems crazy expensive for tuition each month.

However, if that's right then you would be earning 12,500 SW pts a month and not 125 (as the SW card pays you a pt per $)

If it were me -- if the tuition bill is really that high, I'd be earning Disney $'s cause even with the $45 transaction fee, you would be coming out ahead $80/mo vs just putting it on a debit card.

how much is tuition cost? how many points do you get per dollar spent?

Is the $45 fee required every school year or just once?

Oops! :headache:
You're right...wrong math (thank goodness!).
Tuition is $1700 per month, so I'd be losing money on it.
Only "making" $17 per month while losing $45 (losing $28 overall).

Thank you for making this easy for me! LOL! :thumbsup2
