First time flying with SW and the "cattle call" method.
Flying out of Buffalo NY with DH, DD8, DS10. If I print out our boarding passes 24 hours ahead, hopefully get an A pass, and have luggage to check, then what?
Where do I go to check the luggage? Do I then have to stand in line behind everyone else who has not already printed a boarding pass to check our luggage?

No...you can go straight to the computer terminal at the desk, follow the screen instructions...pass you bags onto the weight scale...and your off.
It real easy...and fast. The Southwest deask is right inside the door as you enter the terminal (its very small so you can't miss it). Some use curb side...I don't.

Thanks for the info. :goodvibes

Why don't you like the curb side check in? Unsure your bags actually arrive?

30 days and counting........ :cheer2:

yep....

exactly what happened to me last year using curb side at buffalo.....first time it has happened in more than 20 years of flying

lost a bag on me....when they found it in salt lake city there was no tag ON IT.....keep wondering if they ever did put a tag on it in buffalo....of course it could have happened in chicago midway too .....they seem to have trouble with conveyor belts there a lot ....

the time i thought that would be saved by taking an earlier flight through chicago instead of the NON stop later in the day was all wasted tracking the bag down...

if it had not been for an efficient supervisor who knew how to "search" the computer for lost luggage with no tags, i still would probably not have my bag.....the more i think about it ....it was probably chicago that caused the problem since there were others on the flight who boarded in chicago whose bags did not arrive with the flight also

it was just a coincidence that it was the first time i had used curb side checkin at buffalo since we usually go into the terminal

it is easy to check in ....inside at buffalo....

unless you hit one of those charter flights which means the lines will "look" really LONG at the southwest check in, but in reality they are checked in by the tour company and regular fliers go to a different line

now coming back from Orlando you might want to use curbside checkin if the inside line is really LONG

another aside, sometimes for the morning flights the security check lines are quite long but remember everyone is in the same boat.....it will not affect your A boarding pass if it does take you a bit longer getting through these lines

I've actually heard of a couple of folk having trouble at the curb side (thats aside from the fact that the obligatory tip is expected!).
The fact is that the check in inside is just as fast (in fact folk who got off the same shuttle as us were still lined up at the curbside when we were already on our way through to the departure lounge)

We always use curbside check in and have never had a problem :thumbsup2

We fly 8-10 times a year with SW, and find this a convenient way to go.
