Sorry, if this has already been discussed, but for those that have flown SWA recently - what if anything, did you notice about the % of A,B,C boarding passes? Before they allowed the on line check it, it seemed to be pretty evenly split. But last Feb when we flew, we got A passes, but still had to get in line early. When they started boarding it looked like there were around 50-60% A passes, 35% B, and I'll bet there weren't 20-30 people in the C line. If everyone starts printing passes on line (unlikely, I know) and all get A passes, this really hasn't accomplished much.
Anyone ever printed on line and got a B pass?

They are equally doled out between gate, online, curb and counter.
There is only a certain amount of a, b, and c passes. If the flight was not full, I am not surprised that you saw few C passes.

At last check there were 45 in each bucket.

That said, it can be loaded towards A especially if the plane is coming from someplace. Lets say there are only 50 people boarding in Nashville because the plane from Chicago is pretty full, then all of us are basically A (not that it does us any good!)

I have a question for you SW fliers as we have never flown with this airline before.

There are a total of 8 of going and 5 of those are children. 3 of which have never flown before. We plan on getting to the airport at least 2 hours early, but we have the situation of a mom who may hold things up a bit as these are her babies and have never left her side for more than a day or two. Granted they have gone to church camp but that was in the state of texas and not far away.

I know that there are many factors that will play into the quesiton, number of passengers being the biggest, but do you think we will have a problem sitting near each other? I am not worried about my boys, they have flown before and know what to do. The other 3 I am worried about. I don't mind having the adult spread out if need be, but it sure would make it more enjoyable for the kids if we were all sitting by each other.

Thanks,

Michelle

There are no guarantees. The best you can do is arrive early and hope for an A or B boarding pass.
They cannot make people move to accomodate others, they will try, but, that does not always work.
As to holding up the boarding, well, that won't last long. :)

Thanks for the info. My DH and I plan on doing quick goodbyes and then rushing the kids through security. Hopefully before Mom notices.

Here oldest kids are 13 and 12. I know they could care less about long goodbyes. It's the 8 year old that may be tricky. This is the baby of the family...you know how that can go at times.:teeth:

A "B" Boarding Pass on SW is really not that bad.

Still plenty of seats.

A "C" can be tricky esepcially if you are the last to board the plane as happened to me the ast time we flew SWA.

I want that Disney "E" Ticket circa 1978. Get on good rides with that.
