SW flight cancel/change? Anyone know...

If I book a fare over the internet, does anyone know what the policy is for changing a date of a flight if we can't make it?
We'd like to go in June but may have to postpone til July or August due to pending legal proceedings.
Any info would be much appreciated

We found better flight times on SW a few weeks after we already booked on their website. So I called customer service and she walked me through the steps to change both flight times while on-line with me.There was no extra charge for this and we actually banked $250.00 with them for a future flight because of the price difference.

We've had to do this a couple of times. There are no fees or penalties.

You should be able to "cancel" the flight, but with SWA this usually means you don't get your money back. Rather the money gets put into ticketless travel funds. You can then use those funds toward the purchase of another ticket when you can actually travel.
