SW/EBCI

I'm a little worried about our seats and we purchased EBCI when I purchased our tickets in Sept for our non-stop flight on Tues. The last 2 trips we made we have ended up getting the B's and that was with EBCI. The first time wasn't so bad, lower B's but not a problem. Last trip B6 and B7 and I swear the whole plane boarded family. Totally agree with the above that thought the ratio was 4:1 adults to children. We ended up next to last row middle and aisle seat and it seemed like a half hour unloading when we arrived. This was not during any school holidays, so I'm nervous about it but we will find out in the morning. I just hate spending the money if we will be seating on the tail anyway:)

I share your concern too. We fly out on Tuesday and only bought our tickets a couple of months ago. We are expecting Bs too. It's just the two of us, but did buy ebci. We usually fly Jetblue but had some vouchers to use on SW.

Well, right at this particular moment we have decided not to buy EBCI. DD and I had a discussion about it and she said not to bother. Then said "can I have the money instead?"

I almost bought it yesterday but would have had to run upstairs to get my CC. Then got distracted with something else.

If you get a chance post and let us know what you got.

Just printed my boarding passes. We got A31 and A32. I thought we would not even have consecutive numbers since I booked each of us separately because we had credits and vouchers to use. I am really shocked to get such good numbers considering it's been less than 2 months that I purchased these tickets (actually on Dec. 31, 2015). And we both have precheck, but we both have a KTN. Now one less thing to worry about.

Excellent!!!!!

Maybe I should do "Family Boarding" with my 10 year old daughter who is 5'6" and see what SW says ! It is funny how almost every other airline does away with "family boarding" at MCO except SW......they should learn.

Just as a quick update. I checked this morning and we got A31 & A32 so I am very happy with that and one less thing to worry about. Now on with the last minute packing! Had to laugh when I saw the above, what are the chances that we have the same numbers. Hubby received the pre-check and I did not which almost always happens to us.

That's funny. Imagine we get there tomorrow and everyone has A31 and A32 because if a glitch....yes, last minute packing here too...we both get precheck because we both signed up last year for our KTN (known traveler number). Well worth the $17 per year.

Oh my god, you said that and for just a second my mind started spinning! That would be so not funny. Packing all done (I hope). My husband always gets precheck and we have never signed up for anything though we only fly once or twice a year.

I have an 'avoid the noisy babies plan'...... (seriously folks I'm kidding...I don't mind little kids at all- but my DH...that's another matter) See, we don't mind B boarding, b/c it means we get to see as we board just WHERE the little 'seat-kickers' are already seated! Then we just pick a seat that's not too close to them(for DH at least)..... so getting on too early means you don't know who you're sharing with, getting on after all the littles means you have an idea of the seating plan.....:thumbsup2 I guess this come from flying SWA a LOT in the past few years, we're used to boarding,we're used to sitting wherever, and I only get EBCI for return flights,as we're usually too busy on vacation for checkin.....

That's not a bad plan. After having a really bad experience with a seat kicker I did scope out the empty seats VS kids on my flight home a week later.

Thought I would pop in with an update on how things went. I did not buy EBCI and our flight to MCO we got A 57/58. I wasn't panning to buy it for that leg of the flight anyway. Our flight home we had almost the same position A55/57. The family line flying home was the smallest I've seen in the last several years only about 25 people but still the adults in the line far out numbered the kids.

Funny note....we ended up with a rather weird person sitting in the aisle seat with us. A guy that clearly wanted to chat....probably for the entire flight. He actually made my DD feel uncomfortable which she then was practically sitting on my lap to get a little space from her neighbour. He made me a little uncomfortable with some of his questions like was I driving home after the flight or going to a hotel. Maybe purely chit chat but it raised the hairs on my neck a little. He said he was a business traveller but then sat there with nothing to occupy himself (no reading material/electronics). So instead he sang out loud and drummed his hands on his legs for most of the flight.
