SW down, AT home and ME! LOL!

I was able to get a decent(to me) flight from PIT to MCO finally on SW this morning. We're taking Airtran home though. Is this going to be a HUGE deal? Can we still take ME and will they get our bags to POP if we're on SW down? And then check our bags for Airtran at the Contemporary for the flight home?? TIA!

Absolutely. No big deal at all. Have fun!

Because you are arriving on Southwest (non-participating airline) it doesn't matter as long as you stick your yellow ME tags on your luggage.

You are returning using a participating airline so you should be able to check the bags at the Contemporary. Not sure how they handle the baggage fee.

We're doing the same thing in ten days - taking SW down from Buffalo and then AT home. When you check in at your resort for your flight home, they will take your luggage (you pay then) ahead to the airport for you. Enjoy!

We are doing the opposite. Going down with Air Tran and back home with SW. We are at Pop so as long as SW is still taking the bags at Pop then we don't have to deal with them either.

Warning! The RAC desks at the resorts are NOT set up to accept payment for checked baggage and if you wait until you check in to try to pay you will not be able to use the service for your bags. Payment must be made by calling BAGS (the company that operates RAC for Disney) and putting the charges on your credit card BEFORE you get to the RAC desk. There will be information about this in the DME package that's delivered to your room the day before departure.
