SW different price depending on # people ?

Hi - when I get a quote for the 4 of us, the return trip from Orlando is $142. When I get a quote for 3 people, then open another link and get a quote for 1person, they come up as $129. Can someone tell me what can be a forseeable problem if I book two separate reservations (a 3 person and a 1 person) in order to get the $129 airfare? I just don't want to mess up anything in us traveling together as a family. I know I would have to check in at the 24 hour mark twice, but is there something else that I may be missing that could cause this to be not worth doing in order to save $50 or so dollars.

The few times we've done this, we didn't have any problems.

I've played their game many times, also book one way trips cuz if one goes down and the return goes up you may not be able to save money. Book and then keep checking.

I had originally booked 8 people together and had to rebook 4 + 4 to get a lower price.
My fare is currently down to $106 from $142...

The way the SW system works, is that it gives you the lowest price that is available for all tickets. Similar to how a theater ticketing system... it will show you the best contiguous seats available.

So, if they only have 3 seats left at $129, and the rest are $142, it will show you $142 when you try for four.

Since you realize and are fine with the fact that you'll need to check in twice, there isn't anything wrong with buying the tickets that way.

This is why I always enter 1 passenger when shopping for airfare then keep adding one until I reach 4 to see if it's the same price before buying all 4 at once.
