SW credit question - can someone confirm?

I have 5 tickets booked under 1 confirmation number. I want to rebook the flights out of a different airport to MCO to save $363 total. Will that credit be under 1 number or will it be split between 5 tickets?

If it's split between 5 tickets and all 5 of us would have to fly again before the credit expires, then I don't want to change our flights. If either myself or my DH could use the entire credit for 1 flight between now & Jan (when we originally booked) then it is worth it to us to drive farther away and save the credit for a future flight somewhere.

I don't want to mess up our good flight times at the close airport if we won't be able to use the funds for 1 whole ticket because we have no plans to fly all 5 of us anywhere else.

Thanks for any help!

Under the new rules, credits belong to the ticket holder (only) for future use. It used to be that anyone could use them.

I wish they let family members who reside at the same address share credits, but they don't, as far as I know.

Thanks for clarifying, I've been reading more searched threads still trying to find an answer.

Since my cc paid for all the tics, you'd think I could at least use the funds. Darn kids aren't going to use the credits if I don't take them anywhere! lol They should make it that anyone on the same reservation can use the funds.

I'm glad I didn't change then, a $70 credit for each of us is not quite as appealing a trade off for a longer drive and later/earlier times. Bummer cause DH & I were starting to dream about who was going to use those funds for a boys or girls weekend away.

Implementation of the name match restriction on ticketless funds has been delayed.

Implementation of the name match restriction on ticketless funds has been delayed.

Today I was looking up our ttf, and on the page it states:

Unused travel funds may only be applied toward the purchase of future travel for the individual named on the ticket.

So.....:confused3

Go over to flyertalk. A Southwest employee said due to systems issues the implementation of the name match restriction has been delayed.

The way they do credits now is all goofed up. I was doing some flight scheduling and rebooking prior to the alleged new policy and even though the credits weren't people specific they still broke the credit up by 5 (we had 5 people on the reservation). This caused me a problem when I went to rebook. I had 5 credits of little bits like $10 and then some larger credits. When I went to rebook I was only allowed to use 3 (I think) credits per confirmation #, yet because they had broken them all up (even though they were all the same confirmation #) I had like 10 credits. Since we couldn't book with the credits we called SWA and the said I had to book flights separately for my family so that I was able to use all the credits (didn't pay attention to names). This was a pain come check-in because we had such varied boarding passes because we had 5 separate confirmation #'s.

I miss the old days when you just had a lump sum attached to a confirmation # and the main name. That and the free luggage were the biggest advantages to SW!
