OK I have never used a code of any type so I'm not real familiar with the whole process..here's the situation: my sister is thinking about joining us on our way home from MCO and coming back to MKE for ONE night November 14 leaving on the 15th...I looked online and right now the flight we have booked, we booked in June for $35 per way, is now at $106 and a late return flight home on the 15th is at $93...Are these normal rates for southwest? i know Milwaukee is a new location for them so they don't have much info available..I wish i had known this back when we booked ours we could have just booked an extra seat for her..any tips would help me out A TON..I need to get back to her TONIGHT about this..TIA

Holy cow!!! That $35 is unbelievable. I have never seen rates like that. When we first booked our flight from Providence, it was $110 each way. I was able to get it down to $79 but have very rarely seen it under that. There are two trains of thought here, if there are a lot of people on board the discounted seats can be taken earlier - or - if there are not a lot of people on board they are going to try to fill the plane and will offer more discounted fares later. Good luck.

No SW codes out there that I know of. $35 is a steal that is rarely seen anymore. I used to fly from Baltimore to Vegas 5 times per year (early 2000's), and would expect SW rates of $69 per way. That same non-stop route now is often $149 and up. The days of the shoestring airfares are dwindling fast. You got very lucky. I think the new booking will have to be more like reality, $100 or up.

I would honestly just check and check and check. Last year our flights opened at $69 dollars each way and fluctuated right up until about a month before. Anywhere up to $129.. for the exact same flight.
I booked them when they were high and ended up with a 400 dollar credit. So honestly the best advice I can give is to check every day.. not just the Dings.. but the website as well. Good Luck:)
