Has anyone been able to obtain the SW infant boarding verification document at a resort front desk? I know I can have the front desk or the concierge desk staff print adult passes but what about the infant document? We asked at WL in December and they seemed confused, the lady said infants do not need a ticket. I know that but they do require the boarding verification document which was a hassle to get at MCO. However, SW's fares are about $130 less than Delta's right now!

I would highly doubt it.

SW doesn't participate in RAC, so the front desk is just doing what you'd do at home - checking in on-line. I suspect that an airline employee needs to see the documentation.

You can get the infant boarding document when you check your luggage.

Wouldn't your infant have a ticket for the seat you bought them to safely store them in their carseat while in flight?

No - you have to get the infant's boarding document at the airport. In the case of SWA you will need your ticket and the infants birth certificate. Just take care of it when you check your luggage it takes only a few minutes longer.

I checked with SW earlier about bringing a baby on board and he said you could use the birth certificate, a passport, or a babys shot records from the doctors office. I want to use the shot records as I dont want to travel with her BC and risk losing it. Just another option.

Does he have his own seat or is he flying on your lap? If it is the former, no ID needed. If he is a lap child, FAA regulations require the airline to confirm that he is, indeed, under 2 year of age. It is an FAA regulation, not an airline regulation. There have been stories of parents of babies that are clearly under 2 (as in they are 5 months old) being asked for ID. Of course, there are also stories of people never being asked for ID. YYMV.

I was just going to post this. If your child has their own seat, no ID is required at all and a boarding pass can be obtained at your resort. I am guessing you are asking about a boarding card for a LAP BABY. You will have to get this at the airport when you check in as they will want to see proof that your child meets the age requirement. They do this both ways as there have been reports of people who have had a child turn 2 during their trip and were forced to purchase a seat on the way back because the age requirement was not met.

People flying with Lap Babies are also not abe to use online check in with many carriers as well.

Best of luck.

We have always had to get it from the airport when flying with a lap child. We have asked at the resort and told that only the airport can issue them. This is needed when going through security. I think it's also so that the airline rep can see the child and verify the age.

ahhhhhhhh... thank you... for me safety is paramount so baby gets a seat!
which is why this id thing is foreign to me! thanks for indulging my curiosity!
