SW Buys Airtran!

Heard a rumor that maybe Jet Blue will add PIT-MCO flights. Right now we would have to connect at JFK or BOS for MCO.

i tried to find one of their flights to get to MIA/FLL, currently only 1 or 2 flights a day making the connection feasible & then expensive w/the extra leg from PIT to JFK/BOS, yet without the extra leg to get to the hub they were in SWA/AT ballpark.

they'd be a welcomed addition!

We are flying on AT for the 1st time in Nov....chose them over JB and SW so we could fly out of Allentown and choose seats so we could sit together with my in-laws. I assume since we paid for seats before the merger we still have them???

The merger won't completely go thru till sometime next year (or even 2012). Your seat assignments are safe....

But with no assigned seats, how can it be done. You can't guaranty when you get on the plane that there will still be three open seats together.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Customer of Size board before the general boarding because the airline needs to be sure that the Customer of Size can find 2 seats together. Allowing 2 Customer of Size to purchase 3 seats would therefore be possible. Of course SWA does already state in their Customer of Size policy that you can't do this but I do agree that it would be a good idea. I wonder if anybody's contacted SWA to ask about it? The policy really addresses a way for people to get around buying an extra seat, not sharing the extra seat.

ETA: I'm not sure why, but the abbreviation for Customer of Size has been bleeped out. Updating to remove the abbreviation.

Before SW implemented the numbers along w/ the letters for their boarding, one year our family of 3 were "B" boarding passes (mostly because I forgot to check us in 24 hrs in advance :headache: ) and we were the first B's to board. There were still at least a half dozen rows of 3 empty. I'm not certain, but I think they group them by about 75ppl. (First 75 are A's, next 75 are B's, etc...) If you check in and get an A pass, the chances of getting 3 seats together are almost 100%. I'm not saying it's not possible, but the chances are excellent. And...for those who fret over not sitting together...if you have young kids, you will sit together. Once on a flight, there was a lady and her young son (appx 7?) and our flight would NOT push off until they could sit together. Period. Turns out the lady across the aisle from us was too busy yakkin' w/ someone, didn't hear the announcement the first 20 times, and once she wondered why we weren't moving, and heard the announcement, she volunteered to move so we could go. :rolleyes2 As for the pre-board...I would guess it's an option? Don't see why they wouldn't want to help a customer out and give it a try?

I'd LOVE JetBlue to make an appearance at PHL.

Same way SW guarantees a customer of size gets an extra seat. Passengers who are a customer of size pre-board and are given a card to save the extra seat.
