Our flight leaves at 8:10 a.m. tomorrow morning. At 8:10 a.m. by my satellite clock this morning, I clicked to get our boarding passes. I got A47 and my niece got A49. Not sure how someone else got A48. How many seats are in the "A" section? I'm thinking 50.

Do you like sitting in front of the wings or behind them? Why?

Thanks a bunch.

Donna

There's lots of possible reasons why you didn't get a high A number (there's 60 per group). People who pay for the early number assignment will be ahead of you. People who have a full price ticket will be ahead of you. Also, if folks are making a connection onto your flight, they check in for their original flight. For example, if someone is going Seattle -> Orlando with a connection in Chicago, they could have checked into the Chicago -> Orlando leg 5 hours before those who are initiating their flight in Chicago.

An A seat is just fine. Don't worry.

Where to sit is often personal preference. For us, we normally move towards the back of the plane. We do this mostly to help keep the boarding process moving quickly. It irratates me when folks clog the aisles trying to get a seat towards the front of the aircraft slowing down folks behind them. The only time we try to get seats in the front of the aircraft is if we have a tight connection.

There are 60.

If niece is old enough, just stand in normal positions. If she's not, you can both go to 49 and it will be fine (if 48 is sweet s/he will let you both stand at 47).

I somehow always manage to sit RIGHT behind the engines, and I hate sitting there! So much noisier. It's like white noise, which many would feel is great, but I have tinnitus so I'm my own white noise generator (interestingly, the tinnitus started after I used a white noise generator for over a year) and I do not need the world to be even quieter. So I try to head way back, unless there are some far-forward seats.
