We're going in January in a party of 4 and we'll be going 1.5 days to Sea World and a day to Busch Gardens.

I just started considering getting a SW/BG Annual Pass for the dining/merch discounts and for the parking passes (AP for just myself as we surely won't need multiples of those discounts, right?) ;)

The online prices for a SW/BG ticket (valid for 14 days, so fits well for us) are $124.99 and the Annual Pass for those parks is $169.99.

With the parkings savings ($39 for the 3 days) it's almost certain that it will be a nice choice to get the AP for 1, but now we reach my real questions:
  • Does the dining discount apply to Sharks Underwater Grill? We're planning on getting lunch there on our full Sea World day and the 10% discount on that meal would certainly make the AP even better!
  • Would the 10% apply to the whole bill or just to 1/4?
  • What about on the counter service restaurants, can I get everyone's meals 10% off?

Merch discounts I believe that as long as I present my AP at the cashier that the discount will be applied, right?

I don't know specifically about Sharks Underwater Grill, but I can tell you about our experience with the dining discounts with an Aquatica annual pass at Aquatica.

You only need one annual pass for your whole family, and the discount will be applied to the entire party's meal (assuming you are paying in one transaction).

We saved 10% at all food locations at Aquatica (Banana Beach Cook-out, Waterstone Grill, etc.), right down to the popcorn refills at the snack kiosk. Our AP is in my husband's name, and they allowed me to use the card for purchases with no problem even when he wasn't with me.

Also wanted to add....have you considered a day at Discovery Cove with your annual passholder discount? We went in August for $69 pp for the day resort (no dolphin swim). Awesome value!! Saved us about $90 pp :cool1: .

Well worth it if you can squeeze it into your intinerary. :beach:

I was considering DC, but the main attractive of that park for us is the dolphin swin. Do you know how much that would be with the AP discount?

And if I get DC with discount, do they still get the Sea World / Busch Gardens for 14 days?

Depends on when your visit falls. January 1st and 2nd, the dolphin swim admission with the passholder discount is showing at $209 pp. Other dates during the month of January are $179 pp for the dolphin swim admission. Just remember that DC is closed Tuesday/Wednesdays/Thursdays during January after New Years week.

Admission rates with the passmember discount do not include SW or Aquatica for 14 days as it does when purchased at regular price (I think BG is an upgrade for an additional $20....someone can correct me if I am wrong).

I also just ran the passmember rates for the day resort admission (no dolphin swim). Rates are $119 for Jan 1st and 2nd, and $109 all other dates. Rates obviously increase for 2013 :sad1: .

Check out the links in my signature for what a dolphin experience day looks like (the January link) and what a day resort only day was like (the August link).

What is there to do if you don't do the dolphin swim? When we go in November it will still be $69pp. Would DD almost 3 be able to enjoy also?
