SW and one way Tickets, can I check in online???

Does Southwest let you check in online if you have a one way ticket...There will be 7 of us travelling, if that makes a difference...I was able to book my outbound but the return is still high and I am waiting it out...
I would like us all to sit together, as much as possible.
Has anyone ever had a problem with this...
