Suspicious e-mail I got this morning!

It was in my junk folder, the danger rating was high.

Anyway, the subject line said hi marie! The sender's address was Annie.Cooper884 hotmail. I was going to delete it, because I don't know an Annie Cooper. But then I remembered I have a post over on the rent trade board, hoping someone will rent out some DVC points for a friend of mine. I thought it may be a reply to my post. I opened the e-mail and it said:

please take a look at this:
there was a link to a WWW michelle quick matchfinder com.

No way in hell was I clicking that link.

DELETE.

Who is Annie Cooper and how does she know my name?

I got an email like that, too. Mine was from Jennifer Coleman. I don't know a Jennifer Coleman. So...what I did was open another window and type in the address in the link. It's a matchfinder site. My website address had friendssearch in it. I think it was her name.friendssearch .com or something like that. Just wanted to let you know in case it's from the same people.

What's weird is that the subject line in the one I got was salude, Tazicket! (Only not Tazicket, it was my real name)

I received a similar email but mine went into my inbox evn with a junk mail filter.

Mine said Hi Carol!! in the subject line. It was from Ruth Watson" <Ruth-Watson146@gmail.com>. The body of the email said Nevertheless .
www.Teresa.yourmatchfound.com.

I did open it but that was all that was there. I did not go to the link.

This looks very much like yours. Not sure where it came from. Interesting.

The sender doesn't necessarily know your name. Spammers will string various names and/or character combinations together and eventually hit valid email addresses. If you click on the link, then they know they have a live one. You did the right thing by deleting it!
