I'm really laughing this one off! I just went to pay my WDW vacation off and about an hour after I did this my credit card company's security office called to verify the "suspicious" activity on my account!

Now - isn't that the way to know you truly need and deserve a vacation - when your credit card company red-flags your WDW charge! Obviously I need to exercise my cc more often! I wonder if that will work with DH?!? :lmao:

I'm completely okay with this though - made me feel safer about my credit card company because of how quickly they flagged the "suspicious" activity and called me. I sent them an email giving them props for a job well done!

Just had to share....................................

I had that happen when I first started ordering online - and it was a very special Christmas present for my daughter. They red flagged it, and I didn't even know about it until I tried to use my CC at Target. They had closed my whole CC down! Duh!

Anyways, I called them, got it all straightened out, and now they're used to me and all my odd online stuff, LOL!

I had this happen to me before :) We were stuck in DFW and I bought 1 way tickets after using the CC in Cali that morning. I am glad they are keeping an eye on things.

LOL! I just tried to report MY OWN WDW charge as fraudulent today... I was looking at my Disney Visa statement online and saw a charge for $119 from "TS Mail Order". I had no idea what this was :confused3 so I called the uber-friendly Disney Visa folks and asked if they any more identification on who this vendor might be? "Well, ma'am, it's spelled outa t my end 'Ticket Service Reservations by mail', does that help at all?" And suddenly it all came back to me... MVMCP tickets! Now why couldn't they label that as "WDW TS mail order"??

This happened to us one time - we were travelling by car to an out of state wedding. We stopped and bought gas with the card, then used it to make several small purchases and one large on at an outlet mall. The CC company said it was a pattern indicative of theft - often thieves will "test" a card at a gas station b/c they don't have to face a person (which is why a lot of cc companies limit the amount you are allowed to pay at the pump), then they will try smaller purchases before moving on to bigger charges.

We got a settlement in and we never have that much extra in the bank. We were making alot of purchaces. We order a new entertainment center for best buys and we picked it up. We spent hundreds of dollars at a time, and nothing happened. I went to kohls and spent 45.00 and it was delined. Bank of America said that was suspious. I was like what about the other thounds. Why would 45.00 set of alarms. we got it taken care of and told them we were going to Disney and not to flag us. Then when we got back wqe told them ok. we are done spending.

hehe, the same thing happened on my Debit card as it was such a large transaction. At least it's me who is going and not some cheeky person who's pinched my card.

When this happened to me, I was in the middle of Christmas Shopping. I called the CC to see why they had flagged my CC and they said that there had been an unusual amount of purchases added to my CC. Hah, I said, Yeah... the purchases are called Christams presents. I guess it is good to know that someone is watching, but I thought that they would have had prior expereince with people purchasing WAY MORE in December due to the holidays.

That would have been a bummer - and that is what I kept thinking when I was trying to pay. What happens if it was midnight the night my final payment was due??? I would have had to bust out the regular credit card and I HATE doing that!

That happend to us last year. DH bought gift certificates at a Mall for his employee's and they called me to clarify it with DH. They wouldn't put the charge through until they spoke with DH. They called him back on his cell and put them through.
My DD's card was stolen 10 years ago and they called him and asked if he was in the UK he said no but I reported my card stolen last night. I guess it's a good safe keeping to flad us now and then(but not at WDW or Christmas and really not when your in WDW at Christmas!!)

Same story here, was making Chriistmas purchases online last year and most of the items were being sent from California. I then went to use my CC and was denied, I called the service center and was told there was alot of purchases made on the card for out of state items. I too told the yes, I know they are called Christmas presents for my wife and if she doesn't get them Santa (me) is going to pay for it.
He laughed and cleared my account right then and there. I'll tell you what though, I'm glad they go the extra mile and watch the activity. Most companies won't even pay attention until YOU find the mistakes by then you are playing catch up.

OMG! This just happened to me, too...YESTERDAY. I guess paying off the WDW trip a couple of days ago, then doing a "little" shopping was too much for my credit card. I've had this card for years and never really used it, but just started using it because our other one's interest rate got raised.

The clerk at the store yesterday had to call in my card and then I had to talk to the cc company on the phone and answer some security questions.

I feel like my mom just yelled at me for spending too much money...lol.

I've had it happen twice. The first time was me Christmas shopping. The second was last Thanksgiving. I got a call from the fraud office and they explained that they had just received a charge for $2500 from China... NOT me. They shut my entire account down and had to mail me new cards with new numbers. The bad thing was that the account was a debit account and I couldn't touch any of the money for about a month. I was really glad that they caught it though, saved me a big headache of trying to deal with it myself.

A suggestion--if you're going to be doing something outside your usual spending pattern, such as a trip, we call our cc's in advance and they put a note on file to that effect. We went to Hawaii this summer, I notified all cc's of the dates and destinations, so there wouldn't be any suspicions when I used the cc's.

Good tip, I'd already planned to do that for the upcoming Disney trip.
