I have ADR at Tokyo Dining for sushi during my trip in December. Does anyone know how ordering sushi rolls works with DxDDP? Are the rolls/nigiri counted individually as an appetizer? And, how was the sushi?

We were not impressed with the sushi at Tokyo Dining. Nothing special at all. We have great sushi places at home and were completely spoiled by the maki at California Grill. :thumbsup2

Unless something has changed since I last asked this question last fall, the DxDDP is pretty much wasted here. The sushi menu doesn't count as appetizers; you have to order off the appetizer menu. And only the combo sushi platters can be ordered as your entree, not individual rolls.

Based on the advice of experienced DISers we've been putting off going to Tokyo Dining until a trip when we're not on a dining plan, because I just can't see the sense in it if I have to pay OOP for the items I've been drooling over (specifically the dynamite roll - the photo on the DIS menus site has been taunting me!). In the meantime, I'll get my sushi fix at California Grill and Kona.

The above post is correct, individual sushi orders off the separate sushi menu are not covered by DDP. You would need to order off the regular menu. You can get sushi there as part of a combination platter, but a sushi roll won't count as your DXDDP appetizer.
