Sushi on Disney Dining Plan

Hello everyone! We are finally headed back to Disney World the end of October and will be on the Dining Plan. After looking at menus for counter service and table service, I'm a little bit confused as to how sushi rolls can be selected.

Has anyone dined at any restaurants where they serve sushi and know what you can select? Thanks!

I can only tell you my experience with a few table service places. Teppan Edo has limited sushi and it is not included on the dining plan, though we often order a few rolls separately. We've also had the sushi from Kona (though not while having a meal) and don't believe it is included on the plan. You MIGHT be able to order a sushi meal from Tokyo Dining but not sure. For QS places I'd check the menus at allears.net - they typically show which items are included as a snack.

I do believe sushi can be ordered as an entree at California Grill

There is a QS in EPCOT- I think Katsura Grill- that has sushi as a meal on the dining plan.

I've used the dining plan once in my last ~30 trips in the last 13ish years. I hated it because it limits where and what you can eat, but as a sushi LOVER! here's my list of best sushi (I think they have counter service sushi in the Japan pavilion in Epcot, and I think its grocery store quality if I'm remembering correctly):

Kimono's (Swan) - rated best sushi in Orlando by the Orlando Sentinel
CA - CR
Toyko Dining - serviceable, you might get a table by the windows, which are nice

Morimoto - haven't eaten at the DS location because I have frequent access to other locations, but they've all been excellent.

Enjoy your trip!!! Report back if you find amazing sushi!

At Tokoyo Dining you can order Sushi off their menu. I don't eat it but my cousins were able to order a lot.

Most people think the word "sushi" means raw fish. It doesn't. The word sushi means "the Japanese preparation and serving of cooked vinegared rice."

It doesn't automatically come with raw fish or vegetables. Much like when ordering a pizza, you have to be specific with your toppings. Sushi is ordered the same way. There is also vegetarian sushi or you can have cooked shrimp or chicken - whatever is available.

Me like sushi - YUM! Thanks @heaven2dc for posting this question:cloud9:

There's also sushi at Splittsville at Disney Springs and Kona Cafe at the Poly.

We LOOOOOOOVE the sushi at Splitsville. I don't know why we are so obsessed with it - it's not all that unique and the atmosphere definitely doesn't scream "eat sushi here!". But, it is VERY good, and fresh.

Hoping for a date night at Kimono's this next trip. YUM!

How many rolls can you order with the dining plus plan at Tokyo dining

We recently had sushi at captain cooks at the Poly. It was in the grab and go section. We used 1 counter service DDP meal paired with a beverage per order. I'm not a sushi eater but my husband and children are and they went back a few days later in the week for more so I'm assuming they liked it.
