Survivor--I knew it! That $%#* (spoiler)

Jeff said he didn't know it was a lie until the editing. The other players only found out it was a lie when they watched the show tonight on tv.

'Big Lie' comes to 'Survivor'
By JOHN POWELL -- Jam! Showbiz
Though nobody is sure who takes home the million dollar prize, there is one 'Survivor' mystery that will finally be solved tonight. Since the very beginning of the 'Survivor: Pearl Islands' series, fans have puzzled and puzzled over a riddle unlike any other on the popular reality show series: Who tells the 'Big Lie'? All of the speculation will end as all is finally revealed on tonight's special Wednesday night broadcast.

The conjecture over the fib began back on September 17th when Zap2it.com published an interview with 'Survivor' host Jeff Probst.

Probst told reporter Rick Porter that he fell for "the greatest lie ever told on 'Survivor'".

"It's brilliant. It's brutal and it's brilliant and it totally suckered me," said Probst, who in hosting and helping produce 'Survivor' watches all of the dailies (the raw footage) while the series is being filmed to prepare for the Tribal Council meetings and to keep tabs on the tribal politics. "My first reaction was 'Motherf----r,' and then my second reaction was 'Wow, that's amazing.' "

Probst went on to tell other media sources that the lie leads to some serious regret on the part of the deceiver and that the other players won't even realize the truth of what happened until the episode airs.

Actually, I pretty much had Probst's first reaction...

What a sleaze!

Unbelievable how stupid those girls were.... I knew it though..I told my daughter as we were watching... Burtons not going..I just knew it..when they showed 2 votes for Burton while they were voting I knew it.... Sandra was one of my favorites..now she gonna get her butt kicked!!

I couldn't believe it either. I'll bet someone will find out in the tribe soon. My son predicted it, and I thought there was no way. That was just too low for me. Couldn't stand the guy from the start, and NO, you DON'T have to love him!!!

Jon is definitely a sleaze, but I also thought his move was brilliant. You gotta give him credit. He had this planned BEFORE the game even started. He's definitely there to win, not to make friends.

Interesting thought about a Sandra/Jon alliance........hmmmmmm..........

You may be on to something. Remember last week when she did not vote w/ her tribe. She cast her vote for Jon, knowing that nobody else was voting for him. All of thier arguments could be part of their show. Also, his "secret" talks with Burton could be a ploy. Knowing Jon's actons, he could be telling her to spy on purpose.

I missed the show last night, could someone please explain what lie you are all talking about?

Thanks!

Jon's loved one came on and told jon that his grandmother died and he won the contest because the others felt sorry for him. it was all planned long befor ethe show with the loved one..his grandmother didnt die.

I knew something was fishy when his friend came out and they had the whole discussion about his grandma. I would think if a family member died while you were on Survivor, there would be a way that Jeff would get the information to you. And no, Jon wouldn't of gotten "the letter" because thats not how the show works. That will go down in Survivor history and one of the best moves, but I still can't stand him. He needs to be booted!

And I can't believe that Sandra let Christa take all the heat for the fish. Poor Christa was in tears about it. And I can't believe that they sided with Jon, again. He will end up stabbing them in the back, but it's also interesting how alliance's change every week.

Boy, do I need to get a life or what.

The funny thing is that the "lie" wasn't for immunity. It was just for a reward. That is a big, risky lie for just the reward of meeting with an old friend. One could see it more if it were for immunity.

:earseek: Man, I better defend myself! No, I don't actually "love" John. I do love his devious antics. It makes for great television.

Anyone know if "T" will be on the morning show this morning? Or did I already miss it?

I am wondering about something. At some point Jon says his grandmother was going to be the loved one to come see him but if she couldn't make it then his friend would come. If she was so ill that she could possibly pass away, how was she going to travel all that distance to see him. I thought it seemed like Sandra might be figuring that out, and start to question him on how his grandmother died.

After being totally ticked off about what Jon did (playing on MY emotions no less!!! ) I did calm down and think....what a game move.

Hmmmm, reminds me of someone else......remember good 'ole Will on BB2!!! Will was SO much cuter, tho!!!;) ;)

I didn't know Sandra threw the fish out!!! Darn these back pain meds anyway!!!:o

BTW.....Happy Thanksgiving Survivor fans!!!:D :bounce:

I wanted to KILL him too but I sort of agree with Jeff... what a #$%@^%%&, then WOW, what a move!!

The sympathy move WORKS and it may be the only way he'd get the others to feel sorry for him. He is a COMPLETE jerk but that move, well, it was CLASSIC!

I thought something was fishy when his friend came out and told him about the grandmother. Does anyone remember one season (I forget which one) that one girl recieved a letter from home explaining how her mother had gotten really ill? They definitely would have told Jon before then. That is just downright low what he did, not just because he lied to evreyone, but also because he used his grandmother!

but if his grandmother really is watching jerry springer, she probably loved the move....obviously the votes are already cast for the winner, but my wife made an interesting observation which was confirmed somewhat by jeff's reaction to the lie..

1)will they be madder than Hades
or
2)will they just laugh and say, "wow"

however had the sandra/jon alliance theory, me likes it and it makes since...why else would they be stupid enuf to "not" vote off burton....great TV in the making
