Survivor Cambodia (Second Chances)

Who was the woman who refused to even attempt to eat the gross food? If my team had lost because of her, she'd be gone. No one wanted to eat that food and most gagged, but everyone managed to try except her.

That is Kimmi. She was from Survivor Australia where her team booted her for not eating brain in their eating challenge. She is vegan (or was) and wouldn't eat any animal products. She cried and whined on that show. Kimmi is less whiny now, but still won't do the eating challenges I guess!

There's no way the tribes would chose to put up Ciera and Cass.
Jeff must've told them who's competing.

Agreed. It looked like they were told when to go by the producers/Jeff.

Kimmi. She is a vegetarian and very vocal about it. On her original season there was a huge "blow up" about a chicken. Its one of the few things I remember about her. So definitely not surprising that she wouldn't eat it.

Thanks. Now I remember her. I couldn't quite place her until now. At this point of starvation I probably would anything, including meat:flower1::flower1:

My fiance and I discussed that. We were wondering what would happen if someone was kosher and therefore not allowed to eat some of the foods because of their dietary laws. I couldn't imagine a kosher Survivor contestant or someone who wouldn't break kosher while they are on Survivor but was just wondering what would have happened in that situation. Now we know you just end up being the contestant who says sorry I'm not eating this.

They mostly do beaches because with beaches usually comes fish. When they were in the middle of the jungle there wasn't much in the way of food outside of the beans and rice so it creates a need for more reward challenges earlier on.

Also I think it is weird they now get a bag of rice in the beginning and for awhile they were getting flint and steal. Part of survivor is well survival. If I want to watch the social experiment of people on vacation from real life I would watch Big Brother. I watch Survival to see how the elements affect their game play as well.

(just as side note I do watch Big Brother)

We started watching Naked and Afraid this summer and they really are surviving. Survivor is lame compared to that show as far as survival goes.

not really into this season. I'm finding it boring.

I agree. I remember the older survivor seasons where everyone was so darn skinny from not eating. Now at every challenge it seems like they are stuffing their faces?

Kimmi. Pretty sure she did the same thing the first time she was on too.

I always hear the changes came about because of the condition Elisabeth Hasselbeck came back in. Not sure if that is just survivor lore or not though.

They still do get pretty sick out there. I know Tony said he lost a ton of weight and was very sick on his return.

I thought she found out she had Celiac's disease and actually felt very good while on the show, since she was not eating wheat, or gluten. When she got home she got sick again and this is when she figured out that she had Celiac disease and she was tested and she did.

I am not sad woo is gone- he always was such a follower and wishy washy - my favorite now is savage. I like Terry and Savage but now that terry was gone.....

I just remember she had lost so much weight on the island that she even started loosing her hair. In one exit interview she said she thought it was her bodies way of shedding anything it could so as to not need to create the energy from food. (Went and found the interview didn't remember it from all those years ago)

I don't believe that is why any changes were made to their access to food. She was on the Australian Outback season which was only the second season and a tropical area but not an island. There were seasons after that where people lost lots of weight from not eating.

I have also read some interviews with Jeff where he said as the game has evolved that the vast majority of fans are not that interested in the survival aspect of the game and are more invested in the challenges and social play/strategy.

That definitely would NOT be me. I nearly quit watching after Jenna Morasco won her season after doing NOTHING around camp & at one point begging to be sent home.

Besides, I think the "surviving" aspect plays into the game as well. I think the two go hand in hand. I've enjoyed the years when they HAD to keep the guy who caught all the fish even though everyone wanted him gone (see Jenna Morasco, again).
