Survivor All Star OFFICIAL THREAD!

I thought Kathy(your like a cancer in our tribe comment), Rupert(yeh but your quiting) and Alicia(saying she shouldn't have gone in the first place) comments were disgusting and I hope they feel guilty about them. Sure maybe she shouldn't have went on the show in the first place but they dobn't know her reasoning and besides who cares at that point. They had no right to judge her, her mother was dying and they were playing a game. They should've shown her some respect and sympathy or just kept their big mouths shut.

I missed Kathy's comment, could you fill me in?
I also thought everyone should have just kept their mouths shut, and why did Jeff ask their opinions?

I was a mess at the end of that show. Jeff's probing of her, though I'm sure was scripted or prompted, was the worse part of it all. That stupid game is not a priority and if a person feels the need to leave, let them leave!

I've been where Jenna is. I had to leave my Mom to go back to a JOB that I literally HATED when I knew she had very little time left. That weekend my neice flew in from California, my aunt flew in from NY and we all descended on Tennessee to be with my Mom in her last days. We all KNEW. It's a communication no one can explain.-

After the show my sister called me. No words we just cried and cried and cried. We knew the feeling, we were right there with her.

Tulirose, I do agree though, this Survivor needs to pick up the pace a little bit...I am already becoming bored with these people...:(

I wonder if it's because we already know these survivors, Beanie........maybe getting to know brand new people each time is less boring. :D

Im glad she got home before her mom died.

I do believe that the dying know when their time has come. My dad waited until the night after my mother's bday.

Tom's comment about if his whole family was killed he didn't want to hear about it till the game was over was really cold, I thought.

Liz, I kinda thought so, too, at first but when I thought about it, I had to say I now I don't think it was cold--in the context that he put it in. He said that if everyone dies in a car crash, don't tell me until the game is over. It's different from Jenna's situation, knowing that her mom is dying and time is limited. But in the scenario he presented, it wouldn't really matter when you knew--they are already dead. They won't be any more or less dead if he finds out right away, or a month later.

It was definitely a tear jerker at the end and I'm glad that she listened to her inner self and knew what she had to do. I'm so thankful she has the last days with her Mom.

I thought the reward challenge was a great one as well and Rupert's idea really surprised me. I think he really knew he had messed up too. He truly isn't doing himself any favors this episode.

I also think that this one is a little boring and have to agree that maybe getting to know the new members is what keeps things exciting. Hopefully they will get it moving especially if they merge the tribes.

I don't go onto any spoiler boards because then I know I'd be bored knowing what was going to happen. I enjoy the surprise aspect of it all.

tulirose:

i totally agree with everything you said. if she knew her mom was so bad she shouldnt have gone this time. she already won the million dollars plus all the money shes made from posing so its not like she needs the money.

What a tear-jerker!! I'm glad Jenna was able to leave and spend time with her mom before her mom died; I was afraid Jeff would come to their camp and tell her that her mom died - that would have been much worse. On the other hand, Jenna already won $1million, she knew how sick her mom was. She really shouldn't have gone in the first place. What did she have to prove? I guess I kind of agree with Jenna L - the winners shouldn't be there - they already won the game, give somebody else a chance.

Richard and the shark - what can I say? The only thing that would have made it better would have been if the shark had bitten a certain part of his anatomy..........

Rupert, Rupert, Rupert - I could NOT believe he wanted to build a shelter sunk into the sand. Helloooooo, you're on a tropical island. High tides, lots of rain. All I can think is that his brain must be fried from doing 2 Survivors so close together.

I LOVED the shelter that the winning tribe built, with the swing and everything. Rob M really impressed me; like everybody else, I didn't like him the first time around, but maybe he's an ok guy after all. We'll see if I change my mind after next week's episode; looks like he and Amber heat things up.

I am so glad Jenna made the decision to go home when she did. At least she will have no regrets about leaving the show when she did.

when Jeff was asking for the opinions of the people in the other tribes all I kept saying to my DH was -- no matter what they say they are thinking "well at least no one from my tribe is going home tonight!"

I thought Alicia's comments were the most callous. Rupert at least followed his up with "but it's your decision" or something like that. Tom comment was pretty off the mark after all if something happens to someone while you are away and it is an accident or something you did not leave them knowing they were very ill.

Do you really think she *knew* to go home, or do you think she was given an update on her mother and really knew she had to go home? It could have been one of her stipulations of going back on the island that if her mother got really bad, they'd let her know so she could make up her mind on what to do.

It's Survivor, folks.... not really reality.

The end seemed edited in typical Survivor style. We heard what they wanted us to hear. I dont think we heard all of what Rupert, Alicia and Tom had to say. Rupert had tears in his eyes, so his entire comment about quitting probably wasnt as cold as we were led to believe. Same for Tom and Alicia. They both looked truly choked up, so as crass as they sounded, I think they understood her decision.
Jeff and the rest of the crew had to know this was coming, they had the boat ready for her to leave.

Yes, the whole Jenna part was sad, but why did Jeff bother to act surprised when he already had the boat waiting to take her away?

In any case, there were a lot of laughs last night too. I could NOT believe that Richard actually bit the shark back! That was hilarious! I also laughed out loud when Tom said Sue was the "hag from hell", and how he ever made it to 48 years old without Sue telling him what to do was beyond him. Tom seems (and looks) much older than 48 to me. You can always count on him to be politically incorrect though. I hope he stays around for awhile to amuse us.

How about Tom saying the Sue not drinking wine was the best thing he had every heard from her?

Jenna's Mother had been battling cancer for TWELVE YEARS. She even told Jenna to go ahead with Survivor. Maybe Jenna was thinking that if she won again she could help more with the medical bills.

And maybe Jeff did NOT know Jenna was going to decide to leave the game and go home. Maybe an hour or two passed between the time he said "bring in the boat" and it showed up to take her away.

I'm glad Jenna was able to spend the last few days with her Mom, and from what she said on the Morning Show today, her Mom held on until she got back. She said she couldn't talk, but that Jenna whispered into her ear "I'm home" and her Mother gave a huge sigh. So sad. :(

Could someone who saw Jenna on the Morning Show post the details? Thanks!

I can't wait until next week's show. Whatever challenge that have to do with, who was it, Colby?, knocking people down looks like a hoot!

I said the same thing to my husband about the boat, but he said that they probably have to have one around because if someone is hurt during an immunity challenge. Also, Jeff probably uses the boat after the challenge when he leave.

When Rupert originally started talking about digging down we all thought he wanted to put the main support poles in the ground to give them more stability, which would have been okay. But when his true intentions became obvious it was like "oh dear"!!!

I'm finding several Survivors who I thought were annoying the first time around to be quite likeable this time. Like I never really cared for Big Tom before and I didn't like Lex at all, and everyone hated Jerri but she's even been okay. Kathy doesn't seem to be getting a lot of air time.
