A good episode. I like Tom and Colby and I was glad they managed to get JT to see reason and vote Cirie out. Indeed, I bet that since JT broke the alliance Rupert will re-think his position and throw in his lot with Tom and Colby. I think Jeff made Rupert feel sorta stupid about the I must keep my word thing and, now that JT broke the alliance, Rupert will feel like he is a free agent again (it does not take much in such circumstances to rationalize such thoughts).
As for Russell: he does not realize, I guess, that playing with a new group of players, like on Samoa, is utterly different from playing with veteran players. Hence, on the Samoan beach none of the players knew each other and all they knew of the game was what they had seen on television. Hence it was pretty easy for Russell to make various alliances with different people, all of whom were nervous about being voted out quickly and believed that survival depended on forming early alliances.
However, he is now among a group of veterans, with this being the third trip around for several of them. They know the game and how to play, and how to watch out for people making fake alliances or speaking false words. Sure, people like Boston Rob and Tyson may say Sure, you and me Russ, but then they will turn to the camera, wink, and say Russell sure is stupid if he thinks Im that stupid.
Russells only saving grace with the Villains is that he is extremely good at the challenges. However, I think his number will be up pretty quickly, once the weaker members of the Villains are tossed (like that skinny blonde girl; I cant think of her name). If he makes it to the merge I will be surprised.
Coach: was he really that torn up by Sandras comments? Is he really that thin-skinned and sensitive? Or, is he sly like a fox and knows that such behavior gets him more camera time?
As for the oiled up James (I was actually more interested in the oiled-up girls): ladies, it may interest you to know that James and I could be twins. Not identical, mind you: more like that movie with Danny Divito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, if Danny were African-American.
