Survivor 20**HvV**No SPOILER THREAD**

I wish they would move Amazing Race to another night: I'm tired of it coming on late due to some sporting event.

You need a Canadian feed; we never wait. :happytv:

As for the arguments as to who would beat who, they are all moot. There is no way for us to determine alternate outcomes.

Overall, I thought this was a very good season. I do think, however, that when they do these "all-star" editions there will be some bias in the voting. Many of these people are friends outside the game and it is only natural to vote for someone you know rather than someone you just met.

Actually Jeff said "the jury is in charge and the jury made their decision"
Yes, he also said that he would have voted for Parvati, but that's different than saying that she should have won.
;)

Based on what they showed on TV I would have voted for Parvati too.

It did seem from the jury comments that they lumped Parvati with Russell, but from what we saw on TV we knew that they weren't totally in sync with each other.

Sandra definitely benefitted by being the one who came to the Heroes trying to bail them out.

I'm glad she made it a point to tell them at TC. I think the Heroes felt really stupid when they realized she was trying to help and telling them the truth. But JT was sooo set on the women's alliance that he refused to listen to anyone. :sad2:

Ok, I am not going to go back and read all 100+ pages..just my opinions really..

I was not thrilled that Sandra won...I disliked her gameplay on Pearl Islands, and I disliked it here. She just bugged me..I would have rather seen Parv win, though I didnt like her either...but I was pulling for Russell.

- On the topic of Russell...he was playing a game..I really do not think he is a horrible person. He obviously loves his wife, and from watching them work together in that challenge, have good communication too. TV and editing can make ANYONE look bad..True, he did lie and cheat a bit, but overall, I think he played a game...which is what ultimately what Survivor is..plain and simple.

- I must say, the reunion show needs more time...Jeff is a GREAT host, and there are SOOOO many questions that need to be asked/answered, they need more time to get to it all..

- Rob and Ambers baby was SOOOOO cute!

Overall...a VERY entertaining season...21 will have tough shoes to follow!

I agree that Jeff is a great host too. Love him!!

I have to respectfully disagree about Russell though. Out of everyone I think Russel does not come off as a good person. Not saying its true but that is how he comes off. He comes off as really degrading and bullying. When you look at someone like Boston Rob he obviously can get cocky, is a great manipulator, and can be sneaky but he doesn't treat everyone like complete crap along the way. Sure he gets arrogant at times but he doesn't get nasty...at least that's how I feel. Same goes with Parvati (though she can be slightly annoying at times).

I was on the Russel train at the beginning of S19, but I really got tired of his attitude and acting like he was a Survivor god. There are alot of different aspects to the game and he seems to think that being sneaky and instilling fear is the only way to win and that is obviously not true. He majorly forgets about the social game.

Really the last straw for me with Russell was at the S19 reveal/reunion show. He was sooooo disrespectful to Natalie. He was such a bad sport about losing that he would not shut up kept stealing the spotlight with his gibberish and complaining, especially when he said he wanted it in writing that he is the best survivor player ever or whatever. Natalie hardly got 2 words in. I was honestly very glad to see Russell lose out in the end again this season and glad Sandra did not take his crap.

If Russell could tone down the attitude and ego a couple hundred notches, he would be a great player. In fact, he would be one of my favorites. However, I think that will never happen because unfortunately, I believe it is just his personality and he's just naturally very self-centered. Of course I don't know him so who knows, but that is just how he comes off to me, especially from the way he acts on the live reunion shows.

I have had Survivor players I haven't liked before, but Russell is in a league of his own. I jsut really can't stand watching him. Now, Boston Rob on the other hand, I could watch him everyone season....he's hysterical.

Anyway my two cents about Russell.

LOL--3rd place is a LOSER....even if it was down to Russell and any one of the other players he still would not have won....what can you not understand about that???

Her obsession with Russell is downright creepy. The little troll is a bully and an abuser-it was scary to see his true feelings about women etc right out there on TV!

3rd place is a loser, I never said differently. But he still beat 17 other contestants and finished in 3rd place. I don't know why you feel the need to argue with me over this, it's a fact. So this is my last post on this topic.

I thought the funniest thing is that both times Russell LOSt he lost to women. What was it that he kept calling the women ? Dumb *itches?

Yep! He was more pissed when he lost to Natalie though. His verbal abuse towards her was not pleasant to see.

I completely agree with you :thumbsup2 Russell's attitude is what is keeping me from calling him one of my favorite players. Parv became one of my favorites after watching her this season, she is just a Survivor goddess, she rocks! And Rob will always be my number 1 favorite, I just love him! :)

Awww...isn't that sweet. He loves his baby so much. Except of course when he's swearing on her life. :rolleyes1

Yet another disgusting Russell moment. How in the world can you lie and then swear on your child's life? Yes it's a game, yes you lie, but to do that makes my skin crawl. Well that and about 100 other things Russell said or did.

In his own mind he will still be the Survivor winner. Of course he doesn't seem to live in the world of reality!

Oh for the love of Pete! He isn't the first player to use that line. Wheat everyone here needs to come to grips wit his that we don't know these people at all. All we know is what is on TV and that is edited. I, for one, think we need to remember that. What we see on TV and what happens in real life is quite different. Everyone has a player that they like more than others, why not leave it at that and let it go.

Unless you know him, how is it that you know any better what a good guy he is ? You can only edit the material you have and all the material Russell gave made him appear to be a horses patoot.

I've watched every Survivor and I don't ever remember anyone else swearing on their childrens life.

It's already been stated that most on this thread have an abnormal unhealthy hatred for Russell. Even with a video clearly showing how much the man loves his family they refuse to accept it. It's kinda sad.

I never said he was a good guy in his real life. Where did you get that? I have no idea what he is really like, neither does anybody else on here; that's my point.

the only other person i can remember was Twila in vanuatu, who sweared on her son's life to also get farther in the game.

unless you actually know russell i don't think we can say if he is caring or full of him self, none of us know that.

Obviously, none of us know the "real" Russell from a few hours of television :goodvibes. However, a show like that is meant to cause us to form opinions of the players. Russell's actions on camera and his reactions to losing the game (twice) have caused me to form a negative opinion of him. It would be silly to "hate" him since he has no impact on my life personally, but based on what I saw, I don't think he would be my friend in real life :rotfl:. (But who knows - he might be great :)).

Its nice that there's a video showing that he loves his family, but that's not necessarily an indicator of good character. Loving and caring about the people closest to you is only one aspect of what makes a good person. Maybe he is wonderful in his everyday life, but there's no way to know by that video, just like there's no way to know by the scenes on Survivor. Although I do feel he has portrayed himself as a bully with poor character, I'm sure that's not the whole picture of who he is as a person. I hope he can pull himself together and get back to his life now.

I can agree with most of your post. I enjoyed watching season 19 because of Russell, otherwise it would have been fairly lack luster. Season 20 was good with all the different personalities but Russell was not the only downer. Rupert wasn't all that great either.

As far as who Russell is as a person, I have no decision on that. I have a SIL that is a very nice person but when she plays a game, she is cut throat. So, do I judge her on her game play or how she is when she's not playing the game?

Does anybody know if a new thread has been started for Survivor: Nicaragua? I check once in a while, but can't find one and I don't want to create a duplicate if there is already one out there.
