Well with DH leaving for his training on Monday that will lead him to Iraq, today we had his "farewell" party. My wonderful friend prepared all the food that his company had provided and we had almost 200 people come by to show their love and support. The guys from the fire department (DH was a volunteer until recently) came by with the engines and "saluted" with the sirens and than came in for lunch. It was really funny because we were BBQing outside the community hall and the smoke was coming into the building so when the fire guys showed up several people thought for sure we were busted!! I couldn't get over the number of people who came out to say goodbye and God Bless. It was truely heartwarming. My husband was even in awe at the reception he was given. The fire guys had alerted our local community paper and they came out and did a story and took photos.
Now all that is left to do tommorrow is finish packing and than on Monday get him off to the airport. It will be a sad day, but I am so proud of him and men like him who put their lives on hold to protect the freedoms we sometimes take for granted.
